I would think so. Are these fast moving mechs for a fighing-on-the-run type scenerio, or more like an assault class slugfest where top speeds don't get much over 30 KPH?

I think so. If you think it's too big or too small, change the size of the hex. For example, I like to play with 3-inch hexes, but when I play at home, our table's about the same size as 33x33, so we use the standard 1-inch hex.
you just have to remember to adjust your math if you're hexes are larger than an inch.

We play about that.
30 x 30 for 'normal' speed mechs, 35 if there faster.
Mind you, it's been a while since we played a mini game. Normally use map sheets and the stands. _________________ Loyalty above all else except honour!
