Overview:
    The Marian Hegemony was more then a bit suprised when a maniple of Clan Tech Assault mechs
    were delivered adressed to their Ceasar.  The lack of order, invoice, or "friend" who could
    credibly take credit for the shipment created the dilemma of owing an uncertain favor.
    Never a good feeling in higher stakes politics.  Still,  10 mechs is 10 mechs, it'd be a
    shame not to use them.

Capabilities:
    It was also readily apparent that the gift was also pointed at the Magistry of Canopus.
    Their new NovaStar battlemech was being mocked.  Both mechs had the same baseline firepower
    of Large Pulse Lasers.  Differences deceloped in secondary weapons and mobility.  The Novus
    Sidus has the edge in mobility.  Once its TSM heats up it can maintain a high rate of speed
    indefinitely.  The NovaStar on the otherhand can only engage its Supercharger
    intermittently,  and at some risk.  In a short ranged brawl the NovaStar admittedly has some
    advantage in point blank blasting power.  The Novus Sidus on the other hand can increase its
    damage output at a longer range.  It can also engage in devastating physical attacks.  As a
    side note it also has an teterary weapons system capable of anti-infantry work, a feature
    the NovaStar lacks.
    
    The most important difference however is the reduced price tag.  A Novus Sidus costs roughly
    76% what the NovaStar does while having an estimated 6.6% edge in combat effectiveness.

Deployment:
    To date, only the 10 mechs have been seen.  Rumor has it that Magistry Procurememt Command
    is recieving sales pitch brochures.
