okay, I have this plan, see. A plan to finally finish fiddling with my btech and personal site and ACTUALLY PUT IT ON THE WEB. But first, I have a question.

If I have a 200 meg site that I think would likly move up to 300 megs of pics and MP3s sooner or later. Would a 7 gig transfer be good, or would I want more than that. Just how much traffic can a fansite expect to get?

You'd be surprised. I've seen G. I. Joe and BTech fansites that have so much traffic it's *hours* before I can get on. To be safe, I'd suggest getting just a little more bandwidth than you think you might need at first, then adjust as needs be.

Often that has more to do with connection speeds and not anything with a site's available resources.

I suggest asking Mordel via PM and he'd know 100% the info you'd need.

Actually, it is site traffic. I know this, becuase a little message flashes from the host server stating that they're at capacity. However, that's not saying much since it's with Tripod.

Well, I may have found a simpler way to resolve my concern. The host I was looking at would have given me 200 megs and a 7gig transfer rate for about 8 bucks a month and I could have gotten another 100 megs of space by paying about double that per month.

But I've been a doin some surfin today before I went to work and found a place that will let me have 5,000 megs of space and a 20 or 30 gig transfer rate. Their starter package is 1,000 megs of space. I could turn my whole music collection in mp3s with that first one. And with either one of these I would be paying under 30 a month.

With space like that I could really change my plans for what all I would eventually have on my site. Pics, pics, more pics, extra pics, and loads of mp3 music till the lawyers come calling. Hell yeah.

Oh, yeah. As long as I'm at it. What's the transfer rate here at the bar and grill Mordel?
