Overview:
    Its been said that a protomech can effectivly replace a Wasp or Stinger on a one to one
    basis.  The Vespoid is the formalized realization of that concept.  After all, it would be a
    shame to waste ceturies of experienced based doctrine.

Capabilities:
    The W1A variant starts by mimicing the Wasp 1A.  (Because why bother being creative with
    your naming scheme?)  A chemical medium laser and an SRM-2 faithfully recreate the firepower
    of the mech.  The only real limitation is the comparativly reduced ammo load.  On the other
    hand, the ammo provided exceeds the expected battlefield lifespan of the protomech.

Deployment:
    Despite being formally designed, and that battle history to consider,  there are no plans to
    actually produce Vespoids.  Their mobility or firepower is below the thresholds useful in
    modern combat.

Variants:
    Just how many Wasps and Stingers are there?  The modern ones built or rebuilt to keep up
    with modern combat are likely out of reach, but even now the majority of the ones in use are
    based on star league era models.
