Overview:
The Qilin is an unassuming heavy weapons platform. Available to all Clan Enclaves, it has
proven popular with Blood Spirit second line protomech pilots.
Capabilities:
With a ground mobility profile more akin to an average assualt mech, the Qilin is unlikely
to be involved in offensive operations. Though the jump jets help with maneuverability,
especially in twrrain that protomechs favor, this unit is firmly on the guns and armor side
of the capabilities triangle. Armor coverage is almost maximized, only the sensor blister
has reduced coverage as is standard design practice. The weapons on the primary variant is
an ER Large Laser, giving unpresidented range and hitting power for a protomech.
Deployment:
For the Blood Spirits this class of protomechs are distinctly second line. The pilots are
the ones who are good enough protomech operators that they're still alive, but not driven
enough to qualify for mech duty. Their lack of desire to make a name for themselves
relegates them to less agressive combat rolls, such as fire support.
Variants:
Are you seriously asking if there are variants of a heavy weapon platform? Of course there
are. The three favored by the Blood Spirits are the ER Large Laser carrier, the LRM
carrier, and an SRM carrier.
