Rules for new Tech:

Laser Cutter: Simply a melee weapon. However, if the opponent is shut down, the Laser Cutter may make aimed attacks at any part except the head. Torso locations take normal damage, but limbs are removed as if they had been blown off by critical hit.

Diagnostic Sensors: You may look at the record sheet of any 'Mech or Vehicle in 6 spaces. Blocked by ECM.

==Overview:==

The Renovator Salvage 'Mech occupies an odd niche between BattleMech and IndustrialMech. Although powered and armored to BattleMech standards, the Renovator has only one piece of equipment with any offensive capability.

Designed to ferry out a squad of technicians and assist in the recovery of damaged and disabled military hardware, the Renovator is not completely civilian, nor completely a military tool. Thus far, only high profile units use the Renovator, which can shave hours off the time it takes to recover units. This may not seem like much, but on the battlefield it can be truly important.



==Capabilities:==

A massive 275 Core Tek fusion engine gives the Renovator a movement profile similar to the Shadow Hawk. Along with the Rawlings 45 jump jets, no area is too remote or difficult to reach with the Renovator. Diagnostic sensors placed in the 'Mech's torso allow it to quickly ascertain all problems for the technicians.

In the right torso are a one-ton cargo bay for parts and a two-ton passenger compartment for a squad of technicians. Comfortable and climate controlled, the Renovator is the safest and most comfortable way to deliver technicians to the field. Also of note is the laser cutter on the right forearm. Quickly able to cut chunks and even whole limbs from 'Mechs, it is often used in self defense by the Renovator.



==Variants:==

The battle variant (SLC-582SM) carries an updated internal structure and more armor. The cargo bays are dropped for an ERLLas. Finally, three heatsinks are added. No variants of this design are known of.



==Deployment==

The mercenary unit Battle Magic uses several Renovators and Kong Interstellar has begun producing more. Specialty tech units have expressed the most interest.
