Overview:
Designed to provide Clan Hell’s Horses with a medium Omni-QuadVee skirmisher, the
Veillantif, named for the steed of Roland the paladin who fought under Charlemagne, is a 50
ton machine that does its best to live up to expectations.
Capabilities:
Being a tracked QuadVee design, the Veillantif does not have as much pod space or room in
its chassis as many other designs, so it has to use clan tech wisely in each of its
configurations. With only 12 tons of pod space, each configuration has to be designed
precisely to make effective use of its limited abilities.
Designed for long range skirmishing, the PRIME configuration of the Veillantif has a
centrally mounted extended range large laser, and placed a ten rack of long-range missiles
on either side. Each missile launcher is fed by a ton of reloads allowing up to two minutes
of full firepower. The final ton of payload is used consumed by a supercharger, allowing
bursts of speed when needed, granting the design the ability to reach over 100 kph when
desired.
Deployment:
As quickly as they are produced, Veillantif QuadVees are being assigned to Cavalry and
Ranger clusters. In such units, they are beginning to make a name for themselves, and more
requests are being made for the machines.
