Overview:
Sooner or later someone is going to notice a tendency to use Medium pulse lasers. Which
given their poor range and less then stellar damage to weight ratio could be considered odd.
At the same time the units that use them do tend to have above average mobility and the
mass to make getting into melee range desirable.
Capabilities:
The Medium Pulse/MML-3 combo is used with a fair bit of regularity for browler type designs.
The lasers, especially when combined with a targeting computer, provide a bonus to accuracy
that negates the penalties brought on by moving to the target. The MMLs can add extra punch
at close range, or most importantly can be used to provide mobile cover to the carrying unit
in the form of smoke. The twin launchers allows the pilot the capability to plan for
multiple lines of movement, or should their target be crafty and try to take advantage of
such telegraphed moves, the ability to draw an opponent into a false position.
Mobility is empowered by a full set of improved jump jets placing this configuration on the
faster end of the mobility spectrum.
