I have realized I havent provided anything in the realm relating to Battletech for a while. Why is this you ask? I have several answers...
All the stuff u have been talking about I have not been able to keep up with. I dont read the novels anymore, nor do I buy the new books, or go to conventions. My last game was with Gangrene and some of his friends...a few months ago.
I think the main problem is that I have lost total interest. I mean, if I was to able to play more often I would....but its hard to find people to play with on a regular basis. It takes weeks for GG and I to set a game up...and thats when we are OUT of school. I havent seen any of his posts lately (if he is)...and I havent talked to him in a bit.
Does anyone else suffer this? i still think Battletech is the best table top game I have ever played, despite its flaws.
Anyways...I am still here, and posting in the General Gaming zone where I mostly dwell...

I'm still cranking out mechs. Due to circumstance and the rate at which the last few novels progressed, it did kill a few ideas that I was working on, tho. Despite this, I'm toying with the idea of resurrecting some of them for my own personal work.
I don't know about you guys, but I am giving serious thought to petitioning FanPro to shift their end of the timeline back to the Old Star League and starting from there. It would give them a chance to get the Reseens in a TRO next to the original stats.

My major problem is that I have a major lack of players that I know. I usually play online in PBEM if at all... Guess I need to get out more. ^_^
Second, there are some problems with the DA timeline that I just can't except. (I'll post them if anyone really cares to see the list.) They'd either have to edit the DA line a bit or split the timeline. The later is more likely I believe, but I haven't pushed the point because I believe Randall and Warner have a lot on their plate at the moment. In the future, I plan to campaign for it though, how unsuccessful I may be.
However, in the end, I love the game more now then when I had just got into it. When I started, I liked having a giant robot, especially one I could desgin, to blow things up. But now, I also enjoy the universe itself and the fiction that goes with it.

The Jade Dragon loves the game more than ever and is involved more than ever.
I too have turned to the internet for most of my BattleTech playing needs. Though once in awhile my best friend and I get together and play. There are way to few around here who play and it is too far to get to anywhere that does except on very rare occassions.

I think you need another addition to your poll. Personally I actually play more now than I did years ago.
Of course, who I could play against back then was rather limited at the time, but that's besides the point.

I lost interest when the Clans came out, then I picked it again, and for a time was hooked on the novels again, and then I was so disappointed I went along just to see how things came out in the end, until that last straw that was "Prince of Havoc".
With exceptions, 3050 is the year hell froze over, belay that, 3028 and the thrice accursed Stackpole's fantasy 4th Succession War.
I lost complete interest, to me Battletech is dead, I don't give a damn about what Fanpro makes, and much less about 'Mechwarrior Dark Ages.
e
BUT, I still love Battletech as much. I own all the stuff, the universe is in my hands now, and I love even more than before the 3025 settings. I have gone back in the time tunnel, to me all the story arc after 3028 is an alternative future horribly gone wrong.
I will save what good things were done, some novels, some games, like Battlespace and Aerotech 2, some other good stuff like Max Tech and the like, but I have nothing to do with the nightmare to follow, much less with Dark Ages.
However, if Fanpro makes more stuff about 3025 or before, I'll gladly buy it.
Let's just say that one avatar of Battletech died, but the original is very much alive.

I still love the universe. I got into it after the clans had arived so I dont mind them to much. For me the major problems have been time and time and then time.
There just aint enough of it.
I also have to admit I havent been as happy with the artwork latly. I miss Dwane Loose, I still think he was the best designer they had, I really liked Stackpole till I read the "I am god" essay. I havent read any of the new novels latley. I havent even been able to read the old one just no interest in them. Ill buy a few of the mechs that come out if I like them, other than that Ill start molding my own or casting the ones I want more of. (Im not selling them so hold the law suite). But, Honestely I have lost interest in it when Wizkids announces what they were going to do. its only latley that I have been getting back in to it. As far as the timelines go, Im going to write my own and go from there.

Who here is a fan of Clint Langely's (sp?) art? I thought he captured the real essence of B-Tech. He did some work on the CCG, but most recently I recall he did the Operation: Flashpoint cover.

I've been really busy lately, but I can probably scrounge up time for a game on the weekends or mondays. If you want to play send me an email. I was planning to come to Sac saturday anyways, so if you want we can set up a game.
Honestly, though, I have been losing interest in Btech for a while now. I have found a few games I like more (Illuminati, Settlers of Catan), and there's other things I would rather do with my very limited funds than buy Btech products.
On top of that, I do not like the direction the game is going. The story line that results in MW:DA is kind of lame, IMO.

There is one option you don't have:
(X) I still have interest, but not as much as before.
Of course, getting your minis stolen does tend to kind of kill one's interest.
