Variants:
A prototype when the manufacturing facilities on Bell were nuked, the CLNT-2-3R Clint
replaces the type 5 autocannon and its ammunition with a particle projection cannon and two
heat sinks. Though this doubles its ranged firepower, it also makes the design much more
heat intensive in prolonged battle (which the additional pair of heat sinks does little to
remedy). It was thought this was a fair exchange, and the engineers also decided to
redistribute the torso armor at the same time to make it better able to withstand damage on
its forward arc.
The facility on Bell was getting ready to ramp up production on this new model just prior to
their destruction. It would not be until several centuries later before similar models were
considered.
