Overview:
The QSM-4J would be one of the new Quasimodo variants to come out of the collaborative deal
brokered between Kali-Yama and Tecnicron. While multiple designs would be developed
simultaneously during the course of this partnership the 4J would be the first one approved
for production. Radically deviating from the close-combat approach embraced by the QSM-3D,
the 4J would instead deliver damage from a distance. Ditching its trio of
variable-speed-pulse-lasers, TSM, Blue-Shield Particle Field Damper, and 4 heat sinks, the
4J would be equipped with a terrifying thunderbolt 20 missile system, supported by 4 tons of
ammo protected behind a CASE II. The head mounted er-small laser would be replaced with an
IS anti-missile system, while both er-medium lasers found in the arms would be replaced by
their Clan-Tech equivalents. The base top speed, and jump jet configuration would remain
unchanged, from its predecessor, however the armor would be upgraded to Light-Ferro. While
remaining reasonably mobile, this would mainly be for the purposes of positioning as opposed
to rapidly closing in on targets. Lastly the 4J would be fitted with a C3-Computer (Slave)
allowing it to share targeting data with other similarly equipped mechs (or allow them to
guide in missile shots). It would find a home in both the Free Worlds League and the
Draconis Combine.
