Last week while on a normal patrol. My star came across a bandit Dasihi. Now, as a recon unit. we are just supposed to track guys like this. But Pit command wanted him taken down. And we where the only ones in the area to do it.
The Stallions is a light star with. A Mercury,Jenner IIC,Peregrine,Locust IIC and a Shawdow Hawk IIC, And pitted again a Daishi A. was to say the least bit uneven. It's long range firepower and pulses. compared with our short to medium range weapons.made for a interesting fight.
The Daishi got the first kill but unloading on the Shadow Hawk. My commanders mech. The first volly took out a leg. and the next would have killed the commander. if the Peregrine, and the Jenner (My mech) had not jumped in front to take the shots for him. Giving my commander time to escape the downed mech a get away safely
The Daishi. was more then happy to fire at two light mechs. But the pilot errored. in splitting fire between us. I took the pulses and the Peregrine took the gauss and missles. If he had not split fire. he could have taken one of us out.
While we where taking fire, the Mercury and the Locust moved in from behind and unloaded on him. And berached the rear armor. The Daishi in turn. unloaded on the Mercury. and just melted it into nothing.
So the total stands at Daishi 2 Stallions 0. The next turn. the Daishi stood. and unloaded on the Locust. Bye bye Locust. But so far. the pilots had all gotten away safely. Now it's down to the Jenner and the Peregrine. Both have bereached armor.
So we take to the air. jumping at every turn. The Peregrine would jump in and unload and jump out. then the Jenner would do the same. Trying to expoilt the rear armor breach. But sadly. The Jenner was taken out with a gauss and two LPL to the chest. (damn lucky grouping) but not before taking out the gauss with a alpha shot to the arm. and landing a crit.
Ok. The Daishi has it at 4 and The Stallions 0. The Peregrine kept up it's jump in and out attacks. and was able to take out a laser. before buying it with a two LPL to the center, (The only way to take out a Peregrine)
OK, The Stallions are now scrap metal. But the pilots are all ok. Folks. here's where being a Hell's Horses pays off. In true Horses style. two tanks charge in to land a the fatal blow to the rear armor breach.
We did our job. We stalled the enemy untill re-enforcements arrived.
But the unit is scrap. Except for the Shawdow Hawk. which was repaired. But the other mechs had to be rerolled. and here they are. the new. and far more dangeriuos Recon Star Alpha "Satan's Stallions"
and Locust IIC, Locust IIC, Jenner IIC 4, and a Jenner IIC 4.
Now I'm a true recon unit. with some serious speed and jumps. Bring it on you bunch of Sphereiods. bandits. and any clan crazy enough to try to raid my world. Iota galaxy is ready for you.
