A Micro Gauss Rifle?
No: Really; Smaller then the Light, way bigger then a Magshot, but still throwing single pumpkin balls, implying it's ungood at killing infantry.
Maybe blame the Periphery for thinkin' unsupervised … _________________ Goose

I don't mind the ones that just change damage, range, etc. Those are easy because you just look at the stats. The ones that are somewhat annoying are the ones that have special case rules that you need to pull a rulebook out for.
But to me, I don't care if they have them as I just won't use them. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

My opinion on this is well known...a lot of the new technologies exist because people have no clue how to be successful with the older stuff. Hell, most have no idea how to be successful even with the newer stuff. We see it time and time again at conventions. A complete lack of tactical abilities. _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

I say this jokingly (as you know me), but says the guy who stands his Awesome on a hill and doesn't move it the entire game!! _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

If that's what tactics are required, that's what I'll do. _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

This is exactly how I play Call of Duty or any game like. Running around makes me nauseous. So I "camp" and strategically wait for something to run around the corner. Needless to say, I'm not very good. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Camping is a legit tactic in a lot of cases...and usually the only people whining about it are the guys you killed. _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

On board with you, and many could be tossed, like the Acid Gun and all of the Dark Age stuff, pushed back in to the old Level 3 type usage and only have a core weapon list like the old days of the game. _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

Every so often I run a 3025-era game at TotalCon...watching players trying to play a game where heat is an issue is hilarious.
As Mordel will attest, I require players to have their heat clearly marked on their sheet, including if it's zero...the first failure of that is a warning, second failure usually results in being at the maximum heat you could be at for firing everything for three turns. We do make allowances for obvious errors. Like one time, a player clearly announced while laughing that he was at 21 heat but never wrote it down...no need to penalize that. LOL
(BTW, a person's target can mitigate the heat penalty by indicating what the player fired at them and figuring their heat out from that point) _________________ www.210sportsblog.com

The way I do games?
"Clever and daring wins, but stupid hurts."
I set up my adventures so that they're difficult but not unwinnable. If you're willing to take a second, realize what the situation is, and think carefully, you can generally win.
If I goof up and make something too powerful, or if the party is *legitimately* having that much trouble, I'll intervene.
But if the party's failures are due to their own lack of tactical understanding, then they get to suffer. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat."
