Okay, I have the first book Falkenberg Legion ( West of Honor and the Mercenary)
and was considering buying the next in the series, Prince of Mercenaries, Go tell the Spartans and Prince of Sparta.
However... I am unsure now about them, it looks like it's all about the breakup of the CoDominium and the fight between the US and the URSS. I'm afraid this will make the books dated, and it will lack the action and "adventures in space" themes of the first two.
I am afraid it would be something more Cold War-like, than the "mercenaries in space colonies" feeling of the first two books.
So, if anybody has read these books, do you recommend them?

The books are a bit dated, but Pournell makes up for that in the last two of the series. He adjust things to fit better.
The Soviet-US fight doesn't happen tell the end of the last book and you get a ton of battles that are well written and very interesting.
The space actions takes place mostly in the last book and it's a bit limited but it's there.
I would say get the books and give them a read you won't regret it at all.

I have all of those and liked every one of them. I'll bet you especially like the Spartans. The more I think about it the more I like the concept of having to earn your vote, not just having it handed to you for nothing.
