After much consideration, I've decided to move the site from a shared server to a virtual private server, and as a matter of fact the move has technically already happened. It's more cost for me, but there were some things about a shared server I just didn't really like all that much. For the most part, it was perfectly fine, but at times you could tell it was shared.
A VPS is kind of like a shared server, but only you share it with far fewer individuals, and you have your own dedicated space (a virtual machine) to do with as you please on that server. More allocation of resources dedicated to the site (as opposed to shared) should greatly speed things up.
Along with the move, I was also moved onto a more current version of PHP. I was previously on 5.5, and am now on 7.4. Obviously being on the latest version is far better, it also opens itself up to potential problems of certain features no longer working, or being deprecated. I plan on trying various aspects out to see if anything doesn't work, but if you should stumble upon something that is not functioning, please let me know ASAP so I can fix it.

Although I no longer post and remained as a lurker for a long time (sometimes to peek wt record sheets for games), I still appreciate that you do your best in keeping things updated and alive.
We have lost too many like Solaris7 and dropshipcommand. So just glad that you are still supporting the site.

I appreciate you sticking around and continuing to be a "lurker"! I have no intention of going anywhere, ever...

Given the cost of VPS hosting, not sure Rick would want to do this. It's not ridiculously expensive, but it also isn't free.
