Another new feature worth calling out that is listed in the Announcements section; but who reads that anyways. Wanted to raise awareness to it here in case anyone found it useful. I'll be adding to its capabilities as well over time.
Added a Force Builder feature to the website. This allows the following:- Can create forces consisting of your own custom units or official canon units
- Assign warrior data to the units within a force (including name and skill levels)
- Ability to generate the force in bulk in Record Sheet or Alpha Strike format (with warrior data and skills if specified)
- Track overall BV, PV, Cost, Tonnage, and Composition of your force
- Stays in sync with your units, so editing a unit will modify the force data accordingly

I've got a short list of enhancements to it on the radar to incorporate over time. But if you do use it and find something else you want implemented, don't hesitate to let me know. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Overall very handy .... thank you!
My only nitpick would be adding the ability to save your force with it sorting the units by either tonnage or name when it generates the PDF.

I do have a backlog item to be able to sort your forces by the column headers (e.g., tonnage, BV, etc). Couple of questions...
1) Are you looking for it to save that default sorting preference as well? So each time you load the force it also loads the sort?
2) When generating PDFs, are you looking for it to print in the same order as the sort (Record Sheet as a single PDF or AS cards, as a zip of record sheets is not controllable)?
Just want to be sure I document it right. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

That is correct, to print the PDF in the order of the sort instead of inserting the files randomly.

OK. I'll add an enhancement for that. Currently they always print in alphabetical order (just fixed a bug in the next update where they didn't), but I'll make it so they appear in the PDF in the sort order, which makes total sense. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Very cool that the bug for them being added to the pdf in randomly order is already waiting to be implemented. FYI ..... mine did printed in total random order ..... Lancelot, Warhammer, Wolverine, Valkyrie, Atlas, Black Knight, Marauder.
Thank you.

Yeah, it was merging them based on whatever order the file system was listing them as. Which I had assumed would have been alphabetical, but obviously was not.
Either way, the same logic will also be applied to the the standard unit listing when generating in bulk. So if you sort on BV, it will print based on that order. Not sure when I'll implement it, but it's on the list. And it isn't an overly complex thing to do, so is likely to happen sooner rather than later. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Finally found some time to try the Force Builder.
It is awesome that you always find ways to make this site even more useful and worth visiting!
I put in the first two of my lances and discovered, that it is not exactly that what i thought it is
It would be nice if you can assign the mechs to lances, companies etc. with the ability to name those sub-units (as an option besides the listing of all units). I don't know if such a system can be added at all (let alone in an easy way) but in the end it's only me
Another thing i thought about: I use to number and even name some of my individual mechs like 20 'Hopping Horror' or 6 'The Survivor II'.
I know i could put that into the 'Secondary Name'-space of the technical readout but i would have to introduce several mech-entries of a standard mech into the TRO that only differ in that name. _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!' Glad you got the chance to use it. I have an entire laundry list off things I want to add to the site!

You'll be happy to know that I thought about this exact thing when I added this. I have a backlog item to be able to add forces to other forces. The plan is you'll be able to create lances, or companies, or whatever formation level you want. Then create a high level force, and include the sub-forces. That way you can create a battalion or whatever you want. It's going to require a lot more thought and coding to get it right, so I really wanted to get this "Phase 1" feature out the door. But stick around...

It would be easy enough for me to make it so that unit name is editable, and it would reflect only in that force. You could rename it entirely, tweak it, etc. It would then use that name on record sheets, etc. Viewing the unit from the force would show the updated name, but viewing that same unit from the unit listing would show the original name. Is that along the lines of what you were looking for? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Perfect! I intend to stick around anyway

Yes. Just to be able to name my mechs without cluttering the TRO with silly named standard-mechs _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!'
