Overview:
    After reacquiring New Oslo, Clan Hell's Horses leadership began to look once again at their
    diminished Touman, and knew they needed a symbol to build back up their people after being
    led astray by Malvina of Clan Jade Falcon. Part of that was construction of more of the
    Balius OmniMech, but it was felt that perhaps the design could be tweaked to make it more
    capable. Thus was born the effort that would eventually lead to the Winged Mustang.

Capabilities:
    Knowing the 65 ton frame was not the most optimum of choices for this design, it was decided
    to downgrade the design by 10 tons to the high end of the medium scale for a BattleMech. The
    Stormcrow had long been a favorite of the clan, so the design retained the type 330 fusion
    engine, but in an effort to make it even faster, a supercharger was added to the design.
    Wanting the 'Mech to be as mobile as possible, jump jets and a partial wing system were
    added, enabling gliding jumps of up to 240 meters to be made at one time in a standard
    atmosphere. 11.5 tons of standard plate gave the quad design adequate all around protection.
    
    Of course, these levels of mobility and armor did not come without a cost, and that cost was
    in the weapons payload. Though adequate, the design's twin ER large lasers, SRM-4 launchers
    and single forward mounted flamer and rear mounted ER medium laser are much lighter in
    comparison to the armament of some other designs. However, a good pilot can maintain range
    and use their speed and mobility to snipe at their enemies for a long time before closing in
    to use their scant SRM ammo to finish off their wounded prey.

Deployment:
    At the present time, there are few Winged Mustangs in existence, so they have been mostly
    deployed to ristars. As more become available, it's expected that they will assume much the
    same role as the Gyrfalcon in Clan Jade Falcon.
