Ok, my youngest brother is staying with me for the summer, and we had a little game. His AS-7D Atlas against my Mad Cat II. He had the tonnage, I had slightly better movement.
Well, The first few rounds he hammered my armor. For not having a tergeting computer, he managed to send most of his shots into my center torso.
In return, I launched several furious shots into really vulnerable areas, like his arms and legs. And this is with my good dice, no less. With my crappy white ones, I never even hit.
Finally, he moved in closer, and luck of all luck, I nailed him in the head with a gauss rifle!
Second time in my life I've done that. Ironically enough, the first time I was using a Marauder and hit a Mad Cat.
Ok, I'm done bragging.

Yeah, I hate dice that suck for you no matter how well they work for someone else. It just isn't scientifically possible, but then again, Battletech doesn't exactly stay true to science all the time either...

I wouldn`t brag about winning if it`s through a headchopper hit. You get bragging rights for winning with what is clearly the underdog, and that match, well...

I have over 50 pair of 6-sided dice plus all the other 4,8,10,20,30 and 100 sided ones...
I have specific dice for each type of weapons...Lasers, PPCs, Missles...

Just to reply to all those using different dice for each weapon, location, etc....
...not in my game you wouldn't.

My convention rules for dice:
1)You can bring a billion pairs for all care, but the ones you roll to hit are the ones you roll for location.
2)Dice must have numbers or pips, no designs.
3)I must be able to read your dice from anywhere on the table; if I can't read them you can't use them.
4)You must allow your opponent to use your dice any time s/he asks.

I'd be more than happy to let any opponent use my dice. As a matter of fact, can we force our opponents to use our dice? Huh? Pretty please?
And if you think your dice hate you, you ought to see Horhiro's brother's dice. They are on a vendetta to get him.

The luckiest dice I ever had were the ones from the 2 2nd edition box sets I bought way back when and some other box set for battletech of that time. They were just cheap dice, but they were red dice. When I needed the 12, they rolled the 12. And when I needed the crit, they rolled the crit. Those dice loved me.
And when I decided to sell my car, go back to college, and live on campus I lost a couple of them and the rest were never lucky again.
I have a nice pile of other colored dice, prettier dice, larger dice. But man, every time I get into a game I still find myself missing those cheap box set dice.

I have some that are from 1st edition D&D...They're older that some of the Player in the game....Thay work great to this day. I also have mood Dice, they change color the longer you hold them....
Chihawk, I guess my micro dice are out....They're 1/4 inch square....

Who here hates dice with rounded edges? I absolutely hate those dice. Half the time they continue to roll off of the table, the other half they run into the little cardboard cutout mechs and knock them over.
