3 MP and no LRTs. If this gets detected early than it's gonna need all the HarJel _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

It's got SRTs, and those ER PPCs still have good range. The UMUs help close the range. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Sure the ER PPCs still have respectable range and there are UMUs, but most submarines would have it for target practice unless they were constrained by terrain or map sheets. Even LRT-5s would help on a slowpoke like this. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

I think if you're using 'Mechs against subs, then you are doing it wrong anyways. Any 'Mech, no matter how it's equipped, should die horribly against units specifically designed to function under the water. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Isn't that what you are doing? Making Mechs designed for Underwater Ops... _________________ Sir Henry

Yes, but hopefully for other 'Mechs, and not subs. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

To be honest I thought that when someone makes a 'Mech with underwater configuration he kinda expects that there might be all manner of problems to encounter with subs being one of them. When one makes an U configuration for underwater battle, it doesn't mean that he knows exactly what he'll ecounter. This strikes me as reliance on 'Mech scare effect, but would require dropping some kind of screen to break LOS and get in range against determined opposition.
Having an instalation underwater menas that the body of water is kinda sizeable and that the enemy has probably made some preparations if he went through the trouble of building that goddamned thing there. Building a few subs, or just underwater turrets... heck even sending in LRT equipped infantry or BA should be expected unless he foolishly relies on secrecy alone.
I kinda expect the underwater omnis to be in attacker roles mostly, because guarding underwater objectives for a longer time would probably warrant the use of one or more solutions mentioned above. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Exactly. Nailed it. The U configs are Jihad vintage and were deployed in the assault of underwater bases, like Sydney on Terra. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior
