==Overview:==
With the forming of the new Star League, and with it a new SLDF, it w
decided that a new mech should be built to represent the NSLDF. Using
designers, equipment from all houses, and Built on a Neutral Planet, the
Paladin was born.
==Capabilities:==
The Paladin is truely a marvel of modern technology. Using the best
every house the Paladin is a machine that no single house could hope to
achieve. Designer from every major Company, worked endlessly. Toiling away
and night for months. Even working together, thou there nations be in the
middle of war.
The site of construction is in the primarily nuetral FRR. donating
materials and the assembly lines, FRR does what little it can. The exact
materials donated are Endo-Steel Chassies, Armor, and Electronics
The Paladin is a light end Heavy Class mech. a top speed of 86.4 kph
achived thru the use of the new Lyran Light engine. helping to maintain a l
of battle feild endurance while increasing weapons loadout.
The Capellan's donated the Triple Strength Myomers, giving the Paladi
boost in strength and speed when it is running hot. also gaving what little
they can thru anti-infantry weapons. anti-infantry is covered by twin machi
guns and four small lasers.
Marik helps to bring up the primary and secondary armerments thru a ER
and a pair of ER Medium Lasers. they also help by donating the double heat
sinks used in the design. the twin lasers give a good punch and range for t
weight.
Davion gives the design accuracy by using the new tracking and targeti
computers. this is a truely important device, allowing the Paladin to exicu
attacks on mechs as a laser surgion would a tumor.
Kurita's donation is seen as the most unique. while they donate a fou
missile version of there new streak launchers, giving the Paladin tremendio
anti-tank ability. the donation seen as unique is the sword like bayonet us
on the end of the ER PPC's gun like housing. Giving a feel of a giant soldi
on a charge.
All these combine into speed, firepower, accuracy, and endurance. Mak
the Paladin a leathel combination, and the perfect mech to represent the NS
==Deployment==
All mechs produced thus far are in the sole possession of the NSLDF.
these warriors hold alegence to no house, only the Star League.

Only one suggestion...streaks and TSM don't work well together because their heat is variable--if they don't fire, no heat.
I suggest making it a regular SRM4 and add a ton of ammo--you have case so the amount of ammo there isn't that big of a deal.
All in all not a bad design...

Please, someone refresh my memory: what exactly does TSM do? _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

at 9 heat, double physical damage and adds 2mp (for a net gain of 1mp)

interesting....I don't like to use physical attacks though, I'd rather flip my weapons> One gripe now that I know this: A 60 tonner doing physical attacks? Even with TSM, whats that come out to? 12 damage?

Punch would be 12, kick 24.
For a punch, 1 in 6 to chomp the head; for a kick, 2 pilot checks.

It's a good idea, Vagabond, but there's just one problem: there is already a canon mech known as the Paladin. It's a 70+ ton heavy from the original Solaris VII manual (the gimmic behind it was that the left arm mounted seven machine guns and nothing below the upper arm. Under the original S7 rules, that was essentially a giant Gatling gun.) I's suggest another name for you if I could think of one, tho.
Anyhow, move the PPC. Where it is, you can't use both it and the sword at the same time.

Damn! how'd I miss that? Ok, the sword only adds 6(12) damage according to TDB. I think it might be a waste of weight and space, it just dosen't pack enough ooumph for the weight and space. Or am I missing something about it? ALso, I don't think the small lasers like that would be very effective against vechicles. The TC adds value from them to be used against infantry. The range on those are so short though you'd just fire your PPC and ER's untill you got close and then you'd finally have your chance to open up with your other weaponry.

ok, after trying to make this thing in TDB, I failed miserably. COst ran up about 2 mills short, overweight about 2 tons, and crits were at -4. I'll try it again tomorrow, maybe I'm just tired and doing something horribly wrong.

Move the sword, or preferably replace it with a real weapon. No other complaints,
the machine is solid.

Who cares...I'm actually surprised there aren't multiple cannon mechs that have the same name. Seems only logical it would happen--is some House (or Clan) gunna get sued by another for stealing the name?

That looks like a HMP readout, so I'd say the mech is legal.

the sword stays right were it is...........
if you read, its more a unique thing, then an oh look out thing. come on whats cooler then your ppc having a mech sized bayonet?
as for not being worth its weight, ha. i've played enough bt as of late to learn to not nock a physical attack of any kind. the sword does 7 damage without any heat. with TSM it does 14, and thats a head chopper.
if you want to use your ppc, then kick instead of bayonet. oh and dont forget, its easier to hit with a sword then any other physical attack.

What are the stats for the different weapons and phys attacks? Claw, Mace, Sword, Hatchet, Kick, Punch, Charge, and The JJ attack (I am Jade Falcon) and any others I missed. _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

My suggestion is getting a copy of the BMR-revised, a copy of Max Tech, and the Tactical Handbook. Every piece of Battletech equipment will be listed in there.

A 60-tonner gets headchopper punches if it has TSM engaged. Besides, punches are resolved on the Punch table as opposed to Clubbing attacks (club, hatchet etc). A sword is lighter than a hatchet, but it`s still a waste of tonnage. An additional Streak SRM-4 launcher would be a better use for the tonnage.
