A while ago a friend posed a challange for some of us on her email list. She got it from an old english teacher at her high school.
It goes like this: If, after you died, you could send something back to someone you loved, what would you say?
I did this one. Tell me what you think! its a poem, but the only patern I kept myself to was 17 lines in a stanza.
Of Friendship and Love
With bright eyes I step forth into this dawn,
Watching the sun come up,
I smile and dance,
At one with everything light touches,
And my eyes settle on you,
Receiving a smile in turn,
My friend, I call you,
Friend in turn you call me,
And I am amazed, dancing up or down,
Laughing at myself,
Just crazy and smiling all around,
In dawns early light
All of creation smiles down,
This sound the note of a man sleeping,
This sound the note of red,
Everywhere music and rhythm
And nothing more powerful then our own.
But now at the midpoint of our lives
True friendship is tested,
And the test is past,
Through fire, blood, and darkness
Our trials and tribulations tore at us,
Like the tide against the rocks of the shore,
And yet we struggled on,
Our feelings finding the depth of the Ocean,
And now the final trial is here,
One of which none may pass but by
Going through,
And as I step forth into this new challenge,
I will leave you with one final note,
One final call of clarion sound,
To ease your troubled heart,
To sooth the ruffled waves,
To part with the tone of love that began
And, my friend, as you close your eyes
For your final rest,
You will be carried gently away,
On the golden rays of our sun,
And as you awaken,
To this new beginning,
You will be on this new path,
This new beginning,
And the amber twilight will filter
Through the multicolored hues
Of nature,
The glory of the natural world opened,
And I will be there, on this new road,
And I will take your hand,
In a while, we?ll smile,
March on another mile, holding on tight,
We will step into this twilight.

Actually i think i wouldnt send back anything, or would you risk that she follows you as soon as she knows that here is life on the other side too ?
