Well, something about unification of the supply chain with the Archangel omni and that it had to install the light engine to free tonnage to get it _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

As Sleeping Dragon pointed out, not a very good one:
"Another component from the Celestial supply line is the OSR’s compact gyroscope, a device it shares with the C-ANG-O Archangel. The mass of the armor, gyroscope and PPCs demanded weight savings that were realized by installing a light fusion engine produced on Hesperus II."
So it uses a component something else uses, bt to get it in there they had to change the engine. Essentially no reason why it HAD to have it. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

It technically an excuse to get expensive components on the chassis to achieve nothing of interest at all. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

I could buy that explanation IF battletech had ever before except in passing made a point about supply chains and component availability. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

I think it did, but trying to tell me that a standard gyro complementing 300 class engine was too uncommon so that you need to use compact stinks. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!
