Right...I was looking on IGN one night and stumbed on a review for "Six String Samurai". It was some independent film I had not heard of before...but Six String refered to guitar (duh) and Samurai, to Samurai. Well, if you know me, then Guitars and Samurai are on my top 10 "cool" things list. So I looked into it more...sounded cool, and I made it my quest to watch this movie....

Easier said than done. Its not mainstream, so its hard to find. No Blockbuster, Hollywood Video or Suncoast around here had it...nor did Best Buy. Oh well, such is life.

Cut to Yesterday...I am processing a trade in at my store...going through a few DVDs...Jurassic Park, Fantasia 2000, and Six String Samurai. I gawk for a few seconds, process the trade in, and promptly set the DVD aside for my own personal buying. So I buy it (for $11 after my 25% discount), and I take it home...this morning I pop it in the old DVD player, and here is what I got...

The Story:
In the year 1957, lots of Nukes go off, and Russia invades the US. Las Vegas is the last free city in America. Elvis is crowned King. 40 years later, Elvis dies with to heir to the throne. Across whats left of the country all the rock and roll hopefulls, including Death, travel to Vegas, to compete and be crowned King. Enter Buddy, the Six String Samurai, a warrior guitar player with the intent of becoming the next King of Vegas. Buddy must fight his way through the post apocolyptic wastelands with an orphan that tags along, in order to make his gig in Vegas. On his way he must face wannabe Kings, Bowlers, Underground maniacs, Commies and even Death himself. Thus, Buddy gets in a lot of fights, and shows off how powerful he, his sword, and his '57 Gibson Hollow Body Six String are...

Story: 10/10

Elements of the Movie:
The only way to describe this movie is odd. Its random in a Mad Max/Samurai/Guitar movie way. The dialouge is humorous and witty. The fights are all wonderfully set up, and comical in nature. Its just an awesome movie worth buying right now!

Elements: 10/10

So....yeah....10/10 on this one. Its a cult hit, through and through...If you dont like witty movies, fighting movies, Post apocalyptic movies, or just good movies in general...dont watch it...

But...if you even remotely like watching movies...of any kind....watch it!
