How accurate is that MUL? I've implemented BV2 in my test environment and was using it to confirm my calculations are correct. It's helped me clean up a couple errors, but I hit the Akuma AKU-1XJ and the MUL says it has a BV2 of 2,102.
However, my BV2 calcs say it should be 2,203. HMP and MegaMek Labs come up with the same numbers as me. So what gives? Is there a way to let those guys know their number is wrong? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I see you listed on the Data Entry and verification list.
How are you validating the BV of each unit? I just finished BV2 implementation (not uploaded yet as I want to put other things in as well), but am curious what you guys have used to populate and/or verify the values. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

We use a mixture of methods, mostly connected to Record Sheet creation, where possible. The MUL precedes a lot of more current RS collections, though, so some of those values would have been done by hand or gained from other sources.
Completely unofficially, I work closely with the MML guys. Anything that programme does should be pretty good. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

You might want to tell them to revisit how they do Machine Gun Arrays, as it's wrong. At least in the version I grabbed a couple weeks ago.
Though technically I dislike the way HMP does them and Artemis since it doesn't clearly define which slot the Artemis is nor which slot the array module is. Both of which are important to know. It also forces you to lump them together, which while not that big of an issue, is still restricting what would otherwise be a legal design to have them not next to each other in the same location. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

A couple more MUL corrections for you jymset (confirmed on my site as well as SSW). Both of these have a common thread of using Stealth armor. So perhaps the calcs you pulled these from originally factored that in incorrectly.
1) Wasp WSP-3L should have a BV of 534 (it incorrectly lists it at 610)
2) Phoenix Hawk PXH-4L should have a BV of 1282 (it incorrectly lists it at 1399) _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

You can include the Ostroc OSR-4L to that list. It should be 1778 but the list currently lists it at 1832 (another Stealth miscalculation perhaps). _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Good point. There was a change in how to calculate BV with Stealth Armor some time ago, and iirc we never went back to the MUL to check all these.
I'll raise awareness of the issue. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

Would you still like me to point out the ones I notice are miscalculated if they have Stealth Armor? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

The Naga PRIME, A, B, C and D all have incorrect BV values in the MUL. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

all those listed above should be fixed now.
Still have to go through and do a general SSW/MML comparison to the MUL to see what else has changed, I know there's more than those (Stealth, etc).

so while I don't have all the units listed on my site yet (pretty much took an extended hiatus from doing much of anything BT related when the Dark Age shit hit the fan), with my last update you have the ability to now download the listing in CSV format. I don't know if that's helpful for you since I don't know how easy it is to look everything up in SSW.
You could theoretically filter the result set to show units where the Source does not equal Custom Mordel.Net Units. That will give you all official designs and the BV I have calculated for them. When I do enter a unit I check my BV calculation against what is in the MUL. If that is incorrect I check it against SSW. If SSW and MUL match, I go through the effort of figuring out who is wrong and where. It's a labor of love. If you manage the MUL you're all too familiar with that concept. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

That's basically what I do. MegaMekLab and SSW both produce CSV exports. I compare them (oh, what fun it is to match names....). If they both agree, I use it. If they disagree, I shout out to our BV experts.
Then errata comes along. Either the record sheet changes, or the BV rules change (or *cough* get clarified), and then I have to do it all over again.
