"I am sure it is fine Alexis. Emmy, I suppose I will break the ice on our conversation about our pasts.
I am trueborn, having been enginereed and birthed in the Homes of Clan Smoke Jaguar. I was raised from the Osis-Wirth genome in a sibko of 13 other genechildren of the same blood. Several long and hard years in the Mechwarrior Training facilty on Huntress bred me into a fine example a of Clan warrior. I shipped out to the border planets where I served with the 362nd Assault Cluster in the battle against the Nova Cat invasion forces after Tukkayid.
When the SLDF decided to put an end to Smoke Jaguar, the 362nd was rotated to the Inner Sphere occupation zone where we defended and were ultimatley routed on 19 planets. When my cluster fell back to our Homeworld holdings on Huntress, the SLDF invaded and eliminated almost all resistance on Huntress and declared it neutralized. But we had escaped.
The 362nd had fallen back to the last Smoke Jaguar planet, Tranquil, and became a part of the remanants of the 1st Jaguar Guard. The rankinf officer of the Smoke Jaguar survivors was Galaxy Commander Brendan Corbit, and he became the acting Khan as we defended Tranqul from numerous SLDF forces. When Tranquil finally fell, most of the Smoke Jaguar were rounded up and executed by the SLDF. I survived, with a few of my sibko brothers. Clan Jade Falcon swooped in when the SLDF left, and gathered salvage and what survivors they could find. I joined with the 3rd Talon Cluster and was shipped off to the Inner Sphere occupation zone.
After two to three years in service for the Flacons, I was contacted by a Star Colonel from Clan Wolf. He told me he was of Smoke Jaguar blood, and all remaining Jaguar forces were joining Clan Wolf and meeting up with their former brothers in arms and clan mates. I put in a request with Khan Marthe Pryde, and she understood why I wanted to join Clan Wolf. Khan Vladimir Ward also agreed I could join with my former clan mates.I was exchanged for another mechwarrior, and joined the 37th Strike Cluster, the unit the Smoke Jaguar survivors became.
That is about it, I am shipping out to Glory to join my new unit in a few days. Quid Pro Quo Emmy, what is your history?"

Okay. If no one minds hearing my dissertation here.

*Emmy looks over at Vagabond, who smiles reassuringly at her* It was about fifteen years ago... wow, has it really been that long? Anyway. Fifteen years ago, when I was still green as they come, just out of my sibko, nearly quivering with the excitement of being in my Batu on a real mission. I thought I was ready, I really did, but it seems that no amount of practice or skills can make up for sheer bad luck. *she just grins, poking the now melted sundae a few more times before shoveling a spoonful into her mouth*

I was shot down. I wonder what talented 'mech pilot shot that lucky hit, eh? *another grin, this time directed at Vagabond*

It was a lucky hit. I am not meaning to use that as an excuse, it just happened... fast. I thought I could manage to pilot it, or at least get out of it, but there was nothing that could be done to keep from crashing, and the eject would not work, which meant I was going to crash with it. I survived, somehow, and tried to stay awake, but pain and massive blood loss have a way of knocking you out at times. To this day I am not completely sure how long I was out for, but I was in pretty bad shape when I did wake up and... my Clan was in even worse shape. I should have been a bondsman but... he was here.

*her voice begins growing more and more quiet*

I don't know. Oh... dear. I am spending too much time within the Inner Sphere.

He could have let me die out there, as an enemy, but instead he helped me, as a person. I guess that just is not something I was used to. I, what am I saying? I do tend to babble.

I guess what I mean to say is I was scared. It feels strange to admit it, but I would be lying if I refused to. So many things changed for me so suddenly. I was unable to be sure if I would ever be able to pilot again, and I sure has heck would not be able to get another Batu to pilot, and even if those were of no consideration, I could not bring myself to return to Clan Wolf after my failure and now that Clan Wolf had... changed. Besides...

*after a very long pause she chuckles* Who would have thought I would desert for a boy, eh?

*she raises one eyebrow and looks around hesitantly* Alright, I admitted it. I guess I just never had what it takes. So much for genetically engineering the perfect warriors, eh?

...

I bet any views you may have had of me are a bit changed now. I seriously hope most people got bored during this speech and phased it out.

Hey, Vagabond? How about some music? Either something from the jukebox or you could truly get people to leave and start up the karoke machine.

OOC: Wow, this didn't go where I intended it to go... the story is the same, but... yeah...

*Listens*

"You should not be ashamed for being shot down on your first mission. When my Cluster went up against the Eridani Light Horse Regiments on Luzerme, I was the first to be destroyed. It is not such a big issue."
