==Overview:==
While trying to formulate a strategy to counter the onslaught of the
Clans, the Federated Commonwealth commanders held a series of talks with
designers at the New Avalon Institute of Science. the outcome of the
discussions was a decision to build a light battleMech that could support
heavier units when they suddenly encountered Clan Elementals in combat. The
Federated commonwealth connissioned the ALM-7D Fireball soon after these
debates and immediately dedicated some of the Corean enterprises assembly
lines on New Avalon to the new design.
It wasn't until after testing was done, however, that a critical problem
was revealed with the machine: its limited weapons couldn't kill battle armor
troopers fast enough. As such, the designers, rather than scrap the design,
went back to the drawing board to re-think the mech. The end result was the
Fireball II.

==Capabilities:==
Although many in the team initially balked, the decision was made to make
the mech slightly slower. Even with it being a little slower-than-normal, the
mech is still faster than most of its counterparts as well as most of the
target types. In addition, the weapons systems were indeed removed.
The decision was made to add DHS to the machine, in addition to extra
armor. Once this was done, an array of lasers was mounted into the machine.
The main weapons are now four medium lasers, supported by three small lasers.
These weapons not only have a longer range than the machine gun, but they can
also potentially do more damage than the Streak 2. It also allows for the unit
to be in the field a far longer time before withdrawing, something that has
been viewed as another tactical advantage; not only is the mech still a
presence, but munitions supply is not not as pressing.

I never saw the point in fielding a super-fast Streak SRM-2 launcher and MG. The version with two Medium Lasers always seemed like the best bet.

Your version is superior.

I miss that last bit of speed, but this one is better; weapons and armor really make a difference, compared to a really fast nothing.

Much better mod.. a tad slower, but its still fast as hell.

Good firepower. battlearmour jocks had better be careful.
