------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Centurion was designed and built by Corean Enterprises from 2801
until the Corean plant on Ramen II was destroyed in 2845. Unfortunately, many
CN9-As have developed defects in their autocannon loading mechanisms. As
replacement parts for the Luxor autocannon become increasingly rare, Techs
often replace the entire autocannon with another make or decide to mount a
different type weapons system in its stead.
The chronic difficulties suffered by the Luxor autocannon have resulted
in a wide range of variants. The most radical variant replaces the
medium-heavy autocannon with a full-feature Luxor DDX-5 heavy autocannon. To
accommodate the additional two tons of weight, the medium lasers have been
removed. The resulting 'Mech, the CN9-AH, has a substantially higher potential
damage curve at close range. Innumerable other variants exist in small
numbers. MechWarriors should be aware that when they meet a Centurion on the
battlefield, there is a very good chance that it will not have standard
weaponry.
One such Centurion is piloted by Lieutenant Stephan DuPree formerly of
the Petorian Guard.

==Capabilities:==
Before the 4th Succession War, Stephan Dupree, a citizen of the Free
Worlds League, began working as a free lance mercenary after two terms of
service in the FWL Militia; Stephan DuPree during his service in the militia
achieved the rank of Lieutenant which earned him command of a lance; Lt.
DuPree served without any notable blemishes or points of interest during and
retired from service to try his hand as a hired gun; using his family mech a
CN9 Centurion Dupree spent the next three years on one contract or another in
which he nearly lost his mech and life in combat; within several years, DuPree
would enter into a contract with a stable on Solaris VII, would modify his
family mech, and would start a mercenary group called The Petorian Guard which
would operate during the 4th Succession War.
DuPree is known for his love of infighting and after several years as a
free lance Merc signed on with a stable on Solaris VII. He would rise in the
ranks on Solaris, yet he would never make it within the top ten. In one
attempt he faced the then newly raising star by the name of Justin Xiang, a
former Federated Sun officer who was dishonorably discharged. His fight lasted
only two minute as the two warriors faced off in there Centurions; the fight
was called "the battle for Rome" and resulted in favorable sales. Afterwards,
DuPree was seen shaking hands with Xiang and is said to have spent several
days afterwards in Xiang's presence. DuPree would spend much of the savings
and winnings to have his CN9 modified.
However, modifying his personal mech would cost DuPree the last of his
life savings; the process would be a lengthy and complicated one in which
DuPree replaced the LRM assembly in the mech's left breast with a four tube
SRM rack; decreasing the missile launcher's range and potential damage, yet
decreasing the weapons weight. DuPree used the weight savings caused by the
lighter missile rack to reinstall the long removed medium lasers. DuPree would
further modify the weapons points in the chest so that both lasers faced
forward. Furthermore, DuPree heavily modified the internal structure by
installing Jump Jets a complicated and lengthy task; a modification that would
have been nearly impossible without the repair and modification facilities on
Solaris. These added Jump Jets where mounted just below the shoulder line on
the back and required heavy modification of the armor layout. Overall these
modifications would increase the mech's ability to destroy targets up close at
the expense of ranged weapons fire.
Shortly after the completion of these modifications the 4th Succession
War started and would see DuPree leaving the planet of Solaris; he would end
up again as a Mercenary; in addition, DuPree would create a four man unit
called "The Petorian Guard" which would see its self in the service of both
the Federated Sun and Capellan Confederation; however, after only two
contracts with the CC, Dupree would discontinue any further contracts with the
nation for personnel reasons. Several successful missions would find DuPree's
Mercenary Unit in high regard; unfortunately, fate would smile against the
warrior as his unit was flanked and cut off by a numerically superior CC
Militia. The resulting battle would be sever with "The Petorian Guard"
accounting for nine kills before falling: three mechs and six main battle
tanks. DuPree would manage to personally hold off the Capellans while his XO
made his escape; killing two mechs and one tank before himself being
destroyed.
Lt. DuPree called his mech Gladius during his time with "The Petorian
Guard," an apt name for a unique mech that suited its warrior's style and
flair. Despite its defeat, Gladius proved its self a capable opponent which
has since been used as mold for future CN9 modifications. We have decided to
call these variants CN9-AHUs. Further more, despite his defeat at Capellan
hands DuPree's freedom was purchased by the Federated Sun for his heroic
efforts which resulted in the successful routing of the Capellan defenders by
FS forces. Unfortunately, DuPree suffered massive wounds during his ejection
that resulted in the loss of his left leg and fore arm that ended his carrier
as a Mechwarrior. He presently lives on New Hope where he trains Mechwarriors
for the local Militia.

This looks like the Victor's little brother. A great city fighter for 3025. Have I mentioned that I am a big fan of ac20s?

Nice one Vagabond. I love AC/20's, not sure why.....
I am working on a concept mech....a 50 tonner that goes 7/11 mech with an AC/20.
Armor is light so far at 8 tons but it looks promising. Just a concept I had while drooling over the Saracen hover tanks. 8/12 with AC/20.

Mmmm... AC/20 goodness. I love AC/20s. I have a habit of removing heads with them. Actually, I tend to have that trait with all ACs. It's like they hide big magnets in their cockpits or something... But I like this design, nothing like a Centurion that can rough up anyone at close range.

Communications System: TharHes Muse 54-58K
Targeting & Tracking System: Cyclops 9b

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
After five years of relative peace, Clan forces forged deep into the
Lyran Alliance in 3058, ending their bloody campaign on Coventry. The Coventry
Metal Works facility was a prime target, and though the bulk of the fighting
took place more than a kilometer away from the plant, the factory suffered
significant collateral damage. Combined with the loss of nearly all of its
defending 'Mech force, the damage meant that CMW faced a long period of
rebuilding.
One of CMW's primary products had been the Hollander, a 'Mech disliked by
many members of the Lyran Alliance Armed Forces. Critics cited its lack of
secondary weapons, poor speed. light armor, and inherent instability as
weaknesses that. though minor when considered individually, combined to make
the Ho!lander ineffective when facing Clan forces head-on. The critics were
vindicated by the weak performance of the Hollanders defending the plant
against Clan Jade Falcon attackers during the Battle of Coventry.
Salvage claimed from that battle provided the spark for a new design
based on the Hollander. Among the salvage pulled from wrecked Clan 'Mechs were
a number of intact Clan autocannons, including an Ultra-20 class weapon in
perfect condition. This rare item, combined with recent technological
exchanges with the Free Worlds League, allowed scientists at Defiance
Industries to develop a working Ultra/20 autocannon for full-scale production.
First used on the upgraded Demolisher heavy tank, the weapon would soon see
use in a radical new BattleMech, the Blitzkrieg.

==Capabilities:==
The BTZ-3F Blitzkrieg addresses almost every pilot complaint about the
Hollander. First and foremost, a massive 350 XL engine drives the 'Mech's
50-ton frame at speeds of more than 100 kph, allowing the 'Mech to outflank
all but the fastest opponents. This speed is vital, because the Defiance
Thunder Ultra-20 Autocannon - the Blitzkrieg's only weapon - has only half the
effective range of the Hollander's Gauss rifle. However, with a potential
damage curve more than twice that of the Gauss rifle, the autocannon can slice
target 'Mechs in half in a matter of seconds, especially if the Blitzkrieg
circles behind its target to hit the rear armor.
The Blitzkrieg is also tougher than its predecessor, with a stronger
chassis and almost twice the armor protection. Combined with its high speed,
this makes the newer 'Mech much more likely to survive contact with the enemy.
Designers were also careful about the placement of the huge cannon on the
'Mech's frame. By placing counterweights and ammo feeds to the right of the
weapon, designers ensured proper balance on uneven terrain.
Despite these improvements, the Blitzkrieg has only a single weapon
system. and when it runs out of ammunition (which it tends to do very
quickly), it must retreat behind friendly lines for resupply. Given its other
design advances, however, the need to resupply is a minor weakness in an
otherwise devastating fast-strike 'Mech.

==Deployment==
Because of cost overruns and other delays, the Blitzkrieg is still not in
full-scale production. A lance of the new 'Mechs has been shipped to the
Twenty-fourth Arcturan Guards on Barcelona for field testing. Full-scale
production is due to begin in 3061. The Free Worlds League will have the
option of purchasing up to 25 percent of all Blitzkriegs manufactured on
Coventry.
