I believe in the Clan Wolf Sourcebook, among other places that I specifically can't remember at the moment, it states that the Clans usually don't like jump jets on omnis becuase they think that it is usually used only for getting behind an opponent, which is considered dishonorable.
And there are Omnis and other clan mechs with rear facing weapons. The Timber Wolf has rear facing streak 6s on one configuration (the D config if memory serves), and the Phantom has a rear firing laser or two on the "paper cut" config (the one that mounts a TC and a bunch of ER small lasers). These aren't the only configs, just the ones that I know of off hand. They are intended for infighting; when engaging multiple opponents in a chaotic, swirling battle, such as against dezgra or IS forces.
