Based on the listed choices, I chose The Fed Suns RAC.

Howver, I think c3 is pretty nifty, so props go to the Draconis Combine for coming up with that lovely bit of technology. Which we in ComStar then adpated and improved into c3i.

Why the RACs of House Davion of course. Far less munchy than the HGR. At least you can clear a jam with the RAC. Good luck using an HGR after a capacitor blows. The LGR is just plain useless (for the most part). And stealth armor is just a cheap Null Sig wannabe designed by a pathetic whelp of a nation that couldn't even defend itself during the War of Laio independence.....I mean the Forth Succ. War. MRMs are OK, but I'd rather have an LRM instead.

Hey at least Sealth armor cant jam or blow on u.

He's just mad because the Davions keep losing their worlds to Capellans and their stealth armor.

Those worlds were Capellan to begin with.

The Davions are only occupiers.

Who would want to leave the protection of glorious House Davion? The options are no better, and often worse. Getting to play with RACs is a bonus too.

But seriously, I don't see ordinary citizens on most worlds caring one way or the other. As long as the new lords don't raise taxes or introduce too many new things it's fine.

That sounds remarkably like my roommate who said "Anybody can go nil" when we were playing spades.

We set him on the first trick.

RACs. They're a good, balanced weapon (in regards to themselves, I mean). Combines firepower with accuracy and durability.

As much as I hate to say it, stealth armor HAS to be great, with the range modifiers. The Lyran state dosent really have acess to it but, hell! Thats why I stole that ammo/armor shipment!

Actually, I'd rather have the Clan Streak MRMs from MechWarrior 4.

Mech 4 was by far the WORST of the mech games. There was FAR to much clan tech, very little thought went into the games authenticity IMO. when I can place 4 CLAN ER PPC'S on an awesome with enough heat sinks to fire them 4, 4, 3 and run cool, as I am walking around an Atlas with my cross hairs never leaving the head and watch my ppc's hit the head 5 or 6 times and die because the head went to orange then something is very very wrong.

That and coupled with rare clan tech showing up like its common really ruined the games feel for me.

But back on subject

RAC's I have to agree with Mud I just dont like them.
LGR Its a waste.
HGR To heavy and to silly 25 damage at close range? why.
Stealth Armor Give me Null sig anytime.
MRM's are just to heavy to justify them.

Personally I would have rather seen Davion dump money into making their version of Clan tech. Considering NAIS can do it its just very expensive (even if they just concintrated on making energy weapons that would have made more sense.) Why they never persued that is just silly. Makes as much sense as letting Laio aquire 6 or 7 star league bases with out Davion or the Freeworlds league taking them for themselves.

I was the lost soul who pitched in with a vote for the LGR!

I have never been a great fan of lvl2 - especially as far as the IS is concerned. And to me, most of the above are just funny, but ultimately useless toys.

Sure, the RAC have a great damage potential, but aren't really worth the weight or the bother (and I'm a real champion at jamming them....). MRMs are cute, but not all that effective. HGR are awefully inefficient. Stealth armour is nice - but can be detrimental to gaming fun.

The LGR actually filled a breach - it gave the IS a decent super-long-range weapon, something that they definitely lacked when compared to the clans. Now folks, when measured against other IS weapons, I think that 8 damage is quite ok. It does almost the same damage as a Clan ERLL. It has the same range (better medium range). It does weigh 3 times as much. But it only causes 1/12th of the heat. Sure, an über-killer it ain't, but IMO, quite an interesting choice for the IS.

Now, of course, you can argue that the standard gauss has almost the same range, does almost twice the damage and weighs only 3 tons more. But it really falls into a different bracket - what with the extra ammo needed to support it, it really is a weight class above the LGR.

RAC & TC are even more disbalancing the game than the pulse lasers & targeting computer which was introduced by the Clans

I saw this by this years MO, where Davion players which heavily relayed on RAC & TC equipped mechs dominated the field
