It was 24 hexes Chihawk. And that part was in response to SaberDance's remark about his dislike of the AC/2.

I can't stand the Light Gauss. It's like a bandaid on cut that's healed, Worthless.

I don't like anything OS.

Stream LRMs??? Why bother?

I do lke the AC/2's. I like to attack at 24 and up.

Well, here's mine:
Light Gauss
OS LRMs
X-Pulse Lasers
Level 3 Claw (though it does LOOK cool in some artwork)

Heavy Gauss is kinda a toss up, I like it but I don't

When I said 24 hexes I was refering to the AC2 comment. The SRM notes were only to show that I frequently fire the weapons at maximum range. It was not meant to imply that I was firing srm at 24 hexes.

I don't like OS missiles either. You might as well put the rocket launcers on it. Plus they are much cheaper in campaign.

I quite like the light gauss rifle, don't know why because there are more wieght efficient weapons which do similar damage (AC10),

It works really well on fast medium sniper mechs. Good for popping apart lights where the normal gauss is to heavy or AC10 to short range.

nothing wrong with a light gauss if u got a fast enough mech it can be quite devestating with enough ammo

got to say i have very little use for MRMs as MDPLS are far more efficient and reliable

Yeah, well, sometimes it's useful to reinforce these things

One-shots...who said "One-shots"? Yeah, I hate those too.

And actually there is one specialty munition that I don't hate...torpedos. I don't hate them for three reasons.

1) they are so specialized, that if anyone is willing to forego the tonnage for something that they can use so infrequently, then my hat is off to them!

2) Most games are not decided by what happens underwater (with the exception of the Mosh Pit)

3) they pulled a thorn out of my foot once (I was piloting a Daishi, and I didn't see the Thorn lining up its LRM-5 shot)

Most disliked. . . . . .
Well, all here know I am a gauss fan. I prefer to flatten \'em either far away, or in their face, so I think maces are just fine.

Useless weapons. . . . .
the standard MG. If you can carry 200 shots, what\'s the point if you are only doing 2 points of damage? It\'s like trying to nick someone to death with a razor blade.

Heavy lasers don\'t seem to do much, kind of like re-inventing the wheel. MRMs are ok, although I've had 60 shot at me at one time, and not a one hit. I solve that problem by using targeting computers.

And I LOVE streak missiles. If\'n I\'m gonna shoot a missile, it ought to hit something.

Why do you dislike Clan PLs? They are the greatest thing since sliced infantry! -2 to hit, heat is a little higher, but easier hits and more damage I like. The shorter range I can deal with.

I'm a little behind on things at the moment. Do you have the stats & rules on Rocket Launchers? Or can you tell me where to find them?

The Torpedo is a different weapon then a regular missile launcher because the ammo isn't interchangable...

I don't see why people don't like streaks ... I personally love them. You can carry less ammo so you don't necessarily have to CASE it up and they are incredibly heat efficient when you factor in all of the heat generated to shoot and miss with regular L/SRM's ... over all incredible weapons.

I haven't seen anyone say they don't like Streak SRMs, just the Streak LRMs. Streak LRMs are less well liked then the SRMs are.

But again I ask why? For the same reason that streak SRM's are good Streak LRM's are good as well. Its very hard to find heat efficient long range weapons that don't take up a dozen or so crits or tons ... well Streak LRM's are right there. Not too heavy, not too big, and not too hot ... but again ammo efficient and awesome heat/damage ratio.

I guess people just figure when you are making a clan mech that you might as well just make a laser boat because the clans have such awesome lasers ... but the fact is if you would ever consider even for a moment a regular LRM ... you will be better off with a streak.

That said I would like to say that the artemis IV or V are both total wastes on SRM's when you have the option of streaks ... and on LRMs the IV is a waste if you are a clanner (I am not sure if the V or the streak is better ... that -1 is awefully enticing since you are usually at long range with LRMs)

I guess we also need to add that Artemis V is level 3 which is generally despised around here.

I'm not sure, but I have heard that mounting an ECM system will negate a streak system from locking on you.
