I prefere the sword, i do not use the mace as i havent come to grips with alot of the level three stuff yet.
I do like kicking and punching. But alot of the mechs i like do not have hands, which makes the punch preactically useless.

Also, giving a VTOL a punching or a vehicle a good kick up the exhaust is always fun!

I like a scenario I played on the computer recently. A stranded Altas on the ground with a busted gyro and not able to stand up due to crappy piloting rols with 2 urban mechs firing at point blank range for the ac10s and kicking the Atlas. There is just something amusing by that image. Not to mention humiliating for the Atlas pilot.

Just as an aside, how many of you are aware that hatchets/clubs/etc are full body hits and not on the punch table?

I just learned they had changed that recently. I remember hatchets being on the punch table when they first came out, but did not know that they changed the rules until another thread was talking about that a few weeks back.

Actually, the rules always were that they hit on the full body chart...people just assumed that they hit on the punch table because kicks hit on the kick table.

Yeah a simple thrust of an axe into the rotor arc, it would be just like having the blades hit a pole. I remember the old black and white king kong movie where he grabs one of the biplanes out of the air, I am sure that a mech grabbing a VTOL would look the same.

Yep the extended reach by the weapon would do that. That is why Vtols should add an extra level of height when overflying the battlefield- flyswatter syndrome. At least if you play using some House Rules

I can see it now, I have .5 tons so I can have a white mesh glove on my mech (no not that perverts type glove) just so I can bitch slap another mech. Not punch but bitch slap them. Effect, stunned pilot can not do shit for a round while you wail on him with ranged weapons and a knee to the groin.

Coming in third for my favorite physical attack; Kick. Nothing like kicking a 'mech and watching the player botch the pilot roll.
Coming in second for my favorite phsycial attack; Kick when opponent is down. Boot to the head. If you're in anything larger than a 60 tonner, game over.
And my favorite physical attack;... DFA. Totally senseless. A weapon of last resort. That's why when you use it and succeed and your badly shot up 'mech is the only one left standing at the end of the round you get high fives from all at the table.

..one more thing,I remember during a
tournament,saw a guy using only vehicle
ramming the opponent.
Could be effective in terms of damage
but I think the crew is using heavy drugs.
