Seriously, use the Summoner Prime loadout and tweak it: ERPPC, LB10-X w/ 2t Ammo, MiPL, iATM9 w/ 2t ammo (though an LRM/15 w/ ArtV w/ 2t ammo fits instead of iATM9). _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

It's actually seemingly in line with some other clan 'Mechs (Dire Wolf prime, Jupiter) as they found out that the UAC/5s make a good low heat addition to armament of the 'mech. What was failed to notice is the lack of any big energy guns on this configuration, so it has been made into a mid-range alpha-boat instead with it's battery of ERMLs. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

MechWarrior 4, anyone?

That would be the Thor II A. And that extraneous LRM 5 on the thing was a throwback to MechWarrior Dark Age, where the configuration kinda-sorta appears. At least the LB-X now has 2t ammo, as requested.

Yeah... just no.

Not really. The energy weapons are there on some of the other configurations. All in all, the point of units like this is bridging different impulses of different avenues of lore. The Prime is MW4, the A, B, and D are MechWarrior Dark Age, and the C is MechCommander (though in retrospect replacing the MPL which couldn't fit with a µPL would've been more elegant than the Flamer that was chosen).
Since the Prime pushes out a heck of a lot more average damage than the usual 3050 Thor (albeit in smaller clusters), I wasn't overly worried. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

Other bad configurations are no excuse for making another one. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Yeah, but that didn't happen, so it's all good. The Chassis managed to consolidate 5 configs from 3 sources. If any of them are usable - and they all are - all the better. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

HBK-5M is also useable, which doesn't mean that it's good. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Oh, but these configs are better than good, because they serve the canon.
If they're usable (which I would severely doubt re the HBK-5M), that's just icing on the cake. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

If the above Thor II were fanwank, then stats would be the only thing to judge, unless the creator also presents a fantastic story.
For any published unit, stats are actually quite peripheral, unless said stats violate any established canonical sources.
Stats serve a story. Moreso, stats support canon and be an excellent bridge to tie up loose, apocryphal ends.
In the end, I much prefer the Thor II to be what it is instead of:
Prime: LB-10X (20), LRM 15 (16) + Artemis IV, ER PPC, 5 jump jets, ECM
A: Gauss Rifle (24), SRM 6 (15), LPL, MPL, 5 jump jets
B: 2 LRM 20 (30), 2 SRM 6 (30), Narc (12), 5 jump jets, AMS (12)
Etc. (And yes, they can be further optimized, but that's not my point.)
And that would be shit. The unit wouldn't add anything at all, as objectively "good" or "bad" as that may be. The above configurations are retreads of the Thor and as such not only fail to do anything new, they actively replace an existing chassis. And then Karagin's point would suddenly stand.
Give me something quirky (but usable) any day of the week. And then tell me that, hey, it pulls in three separate already existing derivative products into main canon just a wee little bit, and I'm sold. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

I think it would be better to aggree to disagree on this matter as I'll probably stay unconvinced by argumentation like that. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

It's definitely not my place to convince anyone. I just thought it'd be cool to have a little interaction going. I should habe stayed objective. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior
