Something I've been mulling over lately.
The entire foundation of the Clan "trueborn" system is that the individuals in question are, in essence, clones. Members of the science caste mix DNA around and then use the resulting mixture to produce a large group of test tube babies. As soon as the resulting clones are old enough to begin functioning on their own, they are subjected to intense military training. Those who don't die or "flunk" are allowed to become warriors.
Well - what if an Inner Sphere faction resorted to Clan-style cloning methods?
Yes, we know that the Wolf's Dragoons do this to at least some extent. But then, the Dragoons were created by Clan Wolf as spies and so I'm not counting them.
What if some faction was desperate enough for warm bodies - for whatever reason (need more soldiers, straight-up population shortage, baby bust, et cetra) - that they resorted to Clan-style cloning to bring the population numbers up?
Even if all they do is go to various families and say "You're on the waiting list to adopt? We've found this abandoned infant" once the child is out of the tanks, we're still talking what could be entire generations of clones afoot in various capacities.

Clones? I thought that they just add their genes to general eugenics pool from which they are, in-vitro, chosen eggs and semen matched and then grown in the iron womb. Not cloning, but human breeding.

The process is kinda obscure in the fluff.
Its hinted at though that cloning is possible via www.sarna.net/wiki/Maeve_Wolf and it was seemingly regular for Clan scientists to edit the genes of the trueborns they were creating to address genetic conditions.
So it is possible... MAYBE thats how Wobbie did it!
