I still think that if you are using a Compact Engine/Gyro (either works) you should be able to place the life support units in the CT. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

you could also have a think team design a small dual command console torso mounted cockpit (all benefits and drawbacks of the small cockpit, dual cockpit, command console cockpit, and torso mounted cockpit apply), and also position life support equipment in critical slot(s) anywhere in 1 (or) 2 torso internal structure locations

Overall, the Technology is their for your idea. Small cockpit, torso mounted cockpit, command console, compact gyro. Though the loss of a more robust life support could cause issues with the engine's proximity to the cockpit.
Dual Cockpit are now officially unoffical tech and the rules are no longer valid for play. They are in the house rules territory of game play. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

The Cockpit Command Console (still in TO) replaced the Dual Cockpit. _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!' i wonder if generalized rules for additional personnel, like my rules for example (see link below), could have said additional personnel in 'Mechs, conventional vehicles, fighters, mobile structures, and other units, will be in Interstellar Operations

edited part added April 19: explanation of rules posted on link's reply _________________ "Okay friendlies, you're not paid to be exclusively a 'MechWarrior', vehicle/spacecraft crewer, fighter pilot, or infantry trooper. You're just paid to follow my orders!" So says me to my personnel.

i understand now, Vagabond, you're using standard internet user behavior of not responding since you read and agree with those 2 replies i've typed, to save yourself time for other tasks; that's not a problem for me and that's fine with me; i'll inform Mordel to contact Herb and Randall about these 2 replies to have them and my Jan 4 reply regarding ideas for cockpits for various units to be published in Interstellar Operations _________________ "Okay friendlies, you're not paid to be exclusively a 'MechWarrior', vehicle/spacecraft crewer, fighter pilot, or infantry trooper. Oh yes, obviously. Just as I agree with damn near everything, since I rarely respond. Us girls must stick together!

I prefer toffee peanuts but these are good too. Got any other nuts we can throw into this post? _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

Perhaps more on topic that the life support could be mounted on head to act like a snorkel for wading through water, but since the 'mechs are fully autonomous from the outer environment untill breached it doesn't make any more sense than having the cockpit in the most hit location and thus suspectible to breach when it comes to water. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!
