Looks disturbingly like his modus operandi - or is this legit?

Is he taking minis and assembling them and then selling them? Or do you think he's molding his own stuff?

Who?

edit -

Even I can tell that this Mad Cat has been assembled wrong.

If this was complete, then the top gun would be in place.

Where'd he get the parts for this one? Or this one?

Yeah, a guy going by the name "Dave the Toymaker" (and numerous aliases) has been active around various miniature game forums, selling re-cast miniatures as originals. Used to sell large amounts of models and even took orders for them, producing curious amounts of extinct minis in a short while.

It's quite easy to tell they're sloppy reproductions. Lots of seam marks where they shouldn't be, loss of textures etc. and always selling them assembled. For unwary buyers those marks are at least partially hidden under a thick layer of basecoat paint. And the fact that he's "slowly adding more for sale" from "garage sales and game club sales" sounds a bit damning considering they all sport the same superglued unfilled hexbase, antennas and flat paint.

In addition to legal hazards there's a health one for unwary modellers, as they're undoubtedly cast in cheap and easy lead tin alloy, of course early Ral Partha minis had lead as well.

...At the bravest point, while selling minis and on the same accounts, he maintained an unlimited purchase offer for scrap/surplus lead, tin and pewter. Twisted Evil

Interesting, though I don't buy minis so it doesn't impact me.

I'm assuming folks at IWM would care though.
