Yeah, it must be a good place to get hit by lighting when those storms roll in so quickly. _________________ "I have lived my life trying to be a virtuous man. The Dragon admires tenacity, and the code of the samurai upholds it as well." -Minobu Tetsuhara

We have the exact same saying up here in New England. It keeps things interesting, I'd hate to live somewhere without the crazy seasons we have.

Here's New England weather for you...my brother went out to golf Saturday morning and it was mostly sunny here and it was about 50°. Got the the golf course, which is only 10 miles north of here, and it was 34° with flurries.
There is no place like New England when it comes to weather...it was 95° and humid here and 50° and a bitter cold wind in Boston, just 40 miles east, for an entire week last summer...with no rain or clouds between us!!!

Here's some of the DC Hero Clix minis coming out in September (courtesy of Wizkids):
Supes, Bats, plastic man, joker, catwoman, robin, aquaman, hawkman, huntress, Bane, man-bat, clayface III, and Harley Quinn.
I'll be bumming if they don't come out with my favorite DC hero: The Martian Manhunter!

I have a distinct hatred of all collectible games. I firmly believe that Richard Garfield and Magic effectively destroyed the RPG/wargaming field. I liked the fast play of Magic, But if you can win more with $5000 in game materials than with $50 in it, there is something wrong. Magic players wound up combining the worst aspects of Toy/comic collecting(speculators that sell freakin' Jetfire for $500), and Wargaming(munchkinism) to get the idea behind $35000 all black-lotus decks. I think the greatest thing that anyone could do here is to find a way to force WOTC, WK, and so on to do regular reprints/extra runs. That way the players will win/lose based on skill, not cash.

I on the other hand have no hatred of any collectible games. They enjoyment for me of playing games is just that, playing. Winning comes secondary to the fun of participating in enjoyable games with old friends or new aquaintances.
Collectable games by nature lure people into building undefeatable decks/teams/whatnots. But this can be circumvented by setting house limits in your gaming circles or by perhaps playing sealed deck/box tourneys.
I play Marvel Overpower with my brother and most of the fun of it derived from recreating our favorite childhood teams with these cards and duking it out, win or lose it's a ton of joy to replay the Defenders/Avengers War.
I guess my rambling should end by saying that for me BattleTech is my most favorite "collectible" game, although it is not randomized, I still collect a lot of game materials for it, not for future resale, but for my own enjoyment.

That's the attitude I agree with. When I started hoarding Phawks, it was mainly because I had originally meant to eventually have a company of them for play. My problem with the collectible game industry isn't the collectable aspect, but the artificial rarity. For example, in the original Star Wars figure line, the rare figures were rare for a reason, they didn't think they would sell. In this market, the ones who will sell the most are made the most rare, and thereby most expensive. Rare and hard-to-find because of either real, or imagined lack of interest is good. Cutting production to increase demand? Good business, but I still don't like it.
