==Overview:==
The Reno tank - named for its designer, Hauptman Jean Reno - was created
during the tail end of the FedCom Civil War. In the words of Hauptman Reno,
staunch Katrina supporter, he designed the tank to be "...a cheap, light, a
effective vehicle that could root out traitors, cultists, criminals,
dissidents, and any others who would dare challenge Her Majesty." 

Although countless vehicles were already in production or on their way to
assorted Lyran units, few of them saw any sort of actual combat before such
time as Katrina surrendered. 

While their original purpose was now obsolete, the vehicles still filled ga
in the police and garrison forces for numerous Lyran Alliance worlds at the
time of the Jihad. After witnessing their effectiveness in battle first-han
the Blakist forces became quite intrigued and made it a point to capture no
only as many intact units as possible but also the entire factory so that 
they
could field as many as possible, and for similar reasons as to the one that
Hauptman Reno first gave... albeit with reference to Jerome Blake in place 
Katrina Steiner. 

Hauptman Reno apparently never got over the fact that his beloved design ha
been usurped by the Word of Blake, and dedicated the rest of his life to
destroying any vehicles he saw in Blakist hands. He was reportedly quite
successful in this task, with he and his Zukhov crew personally destroying
fifteen vehicles as part of his efforts to lead his planet's resistance.  

==Deployment==
In a twist of bitter irony, both the Lyran Alliance and the Word of Blake
maintain large numbers of the vehicle despite the heavy losses suffered by
both sides. The Word of Blake forced Quikscell to establish a factory on
Procyon in order to continue to produce the machine, while the Lyran Allian
was forced to order units in large numbers to help fill the gaps as police 
and
garrison units were stripped of their medium and heavy tanks to help rebuil
the front-line units.

I've been toying with the general idea for a few years now, but it took a while for me to finally find a design and story that made sense.

LB guns could be an interesting replacement for the main weapon. Cluster rounds are more accurate and can disable target vehicle faster than solid rounds. Police forces can appreciate that.

LB also does more damage to infantry units. Say if a mob begins to violently riot.

That could be dealt with through special ammo. Tear gas/frag SRMs, MG and flechette ammo could do short work of angry mobs. Splitting ammo bins to two half ton lots would actually be a good idea on such tank. Perhaps even quarter ton lots for SRMs to have frag, tear gas, foam and standard at hand (or perhaps smoke). Foam rounds might be pretty useful to limit property damage by quickly dousing fires before it gets a chance to spread.
