Anygun is a workname that happened to stick to final vehicle. Inspired by WWII German Sturmgeschütz and Cold War Swedish Stridsvagn 103 concepts combined with omni technology, the chassis is meant to offer compact size, reasonable mobility and protection along with the ability to use any weapon suitable for 'Mechs fielded by any military in the Inner Sphere or clan space today. This meant that the tank has to carry a fusion engine and 23 tons of pod space to make a good use of Long Tom Canons and Improved Heavy Gauss. Full size Long Tom is unfortunately out of question, but one has to know his limits. Configurations displayed are only examples of what can be done, aside from that you can just paste here a weapons table list.
EDIT: I'm considering pointing the thicker armour and gun backward to make it easier to retreat and fire. Since many of the guns and missiles it will doubtlessly carry have minimal range I expect to be moving away from the enemy easier after they reach my prepared positions/ambush site. Quite similar to British WWII Archer. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

On the driving away bit, i'd avoid that... the rules give a increased crit chance on shots to the rear. You'd probably end up immobilized thus defeating the point. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

It's only +1 and most of the rear table seems worth the risk even if it wasn't houseruled that a tank built like this should suffer this penalty for hits to the front of the vehicle... provided that crew protection was prioritized over vehicle survival. I kind of do like the concept of Merkava with everything but the crew facing enemy fire first. I'd have to install CASE to save them from Gauss and ammo hits though. From rear you don't get any crew kills, stuns or anything like that weapon hits would be more common, but unless I carry a superheavy gun I would slap some armour on it if advanced rules are in play, although component armour seems to be reserved for 'Mechs only, which kind of bugs me, as it seems rather easy to convert to vehicle rules.
As a side question - is cargo hit rerolled provided that the vehicle doesn't have any installed? If not then it doesn't matter much, but if it is, then hauling even half ton and calling it safety barrier could be an idea worth considering... _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

No, you were right! The vehicle does suffer critical hit penalty for exposing rear or sides. It's just I don't think it's that bad. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

What I meant was that its more severe from the side then the rear. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

Agreed, sides need to be protected from the enemy at all costs. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!
