When author Stephen King heard that a unit with the Maine National Guard was looking to travel home from training in Indiana for Christmas, King forked over $12,999 to help finance a pair of charter busses.
Nice to see a celebrity who still has class, eh? _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Wolfwood to a random cat (Trigun)

Is that last part of the sentence meant to indicate you feel Stephen King (or his assistant in this case) went to the news with the story? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Well, the article comes right out and says he people talked to the newspaper. If she didn't inform them of it, how would they know about it?

It actually says the assistant told the newspaper. For all we know someone related to the folks he was getting the bus for told the paper and the assistant just confirmed it when the paper approached them.
I'm guessing you're not a Stephen King fan. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I actually just missed typing the "s" in she the first time...I used she the second time. And no matter who contacted whom, no one representing King needed to talk to the media.
As for not liking him, I couldn't possibly be more indifferent of him. What I've read I've liked, but I don't go out of my way to think about him one way or the other. _________________ www.210sportsblog.com
