*The extra half-ton goes to providing an extra-large cockpit for the pilot.
Said cockpit contains a small hammock, a small toilet / wash area that dumps
out the back, and a few small bins.

*This is, indeed based off of the Bane. BV wise the Bane has a little over 50
points on this, but this unit has a significant advantage in that it's not
wholly dependent upon ammo; even after every last single bin runs dry, the
mech still has three medium lasers it can keep up the fight with.

I came, I saw, I said meh... For a 100 t XL thing I'd expect something... more. This thing just looks underarmed to me, if there weren't the med lasers it certainly would be.

I based it off the Bane, a JF second-line mech.

I was curious as to what would happen if I switched it over to IS tech and went with RACs instead of the 5 UAC/2s on each arm.

Yeah, I noticed that, but the Heretic actually keeps most of the problems the clan 'mech had and adds some new. SUre the firepower has improved (but still not into sufficient levels for a 100 t thing of 3050+ era IMO), but at the cost of range, which is a problem for a slow moving monstrosity. The old Bane went for crits before the enemy could close on it effectively (well, it tried to do that), while this seems to encourage trying to chew the enemy in more conventional way, but it seems to lack the firepower to do that as effectively as the other hyperexpensice things in this weight category.
