I made this some time ago as a surprize 'Mech when I saw the phoenix Warhammer. With those ugly large arms and everything I got an idea. The concept comes from the old 6D Warhammer, which lacked SRMs and had additional armor. The 8G's structural upgrades resemble te additional plating and gauss rifles can be easily mistaken for Huge Donall PPCs, especially since the ammo is located in arms, so no ammo feeding mechanism is visible. Unless you are very close or you see the 'mech firing, you don't know that you face something far more dangerous. If you can't afford huge double gauss monsters like the Gunslinger, then this is the 'mech for you.

I remember making a similar Marik version, which kept the missile launcher, but used Light Gauss Rifles. Great sniper platform, but lacked the put down power of the original.

Yours keeps the put down power, but is a little more lightly armored. Common trade off, generally. I do rather like it though. I think the Lyrans would be very interested in this.

Actually it has one additional ton of armor. More than 6R, which served as the base...

Sorry, I should be more specific, I meant, more than my own Warhammer 9M.

I like this very much!
Will be a deadly surprise on the field!
I've played with the idea of a gauss wielding WHM myself but never actually constructed one!
And if i look over yours i think i wouldn't try anymore as you hit the spot!!
I will load it down NOW!!

Ah... Some fluff maybe?

Thanks, I usually don't post 'Mechs with fluff here, What would be the reason to post them in TRO then* Wink

I use the design submissions as a place to post half finished scetches and thoughts that drove me to make the designs.

* this means I'm waiting untill I'll be able to submit 'Mechs to custom TRO section again Sad
