Okay in this match up the terrain is going to be rolling hills with light to medium wood/tree coverage with some low areas that allow a mech to drop to the ground call them gullies if you want.

Average pilots here, nothing fancy. So with the terrain and skill in mind, which mech has the better chances of winning?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this...

Depending on how movement goes, I think the Hatchetman has the advantage. He simply gets more and more powerful as he closes. Withing a certain range, the Vindy's PPC gives him issues, and that's all that really keeps him in the fight. Though the Vindicator has more armor, if he gets cornered, he's going to lose it quickly.

To sum, advantage goes to the Hatchetman, but it's a pretty close match probably.

I agree the Hatchetman should win this more often than not.

I think that the Vindicator may be able to kill the Hatchetman if it manages to find a good sniping position. The HCT has an advantage at short range, but it all depends on how long the pilot manages to avoid Vindy's PPC.

Hatchetman just doesn't have the armor it needs to close safely so I vote Vindicator.

Karagin,

Why did you not make this a poll?

But I think I will go with the Hatchetman. But it has to survive closing in. If it rushes straight forward it across a lot of ground it will get whacked. The low armor and ammo will go off. So the pilot has to patient and catious until within 6-10 hexes and then charge. I think the 20 points at close range will take the day.

With that said HCT take 3 out of 5.

To make everyone write something instead of just clicking on one of the contestants?

Rather have the discussion instead...the reasons are better then folks simply pick one or the other. Normally with the polls you see more votes then reasons why X or Y will win or not.
