==Overview:==
In a world of antique war machines, the Char B design is truly ancient.
Tracing its' lineage directly back to mid 20th-century terra, the latest Char
B is a reliable, flexible, and battle-tested design.
==Capabilities:==
The stock Char B is a formidable opponent with a well-rounded weapons profile,
decent speed and thick armor. Twin autocannons, one a Pontiac Light and the
other a Pontiac 50, provide killing power against almost all targets at most
conventional battlefield ranges, and twin machine guns ensure that even swarms
of infantry have trouble getting close enough to seriously threaten the
vehicle.
It is the internal workings however, and not the weapons that make the Char B
so truly effective. The chassis has been built with almost 20% more room than
it needs, allowing savvy techs to rearrange vital systems and equipment to
accomodate a massive variety of weapon systems, resulting in a true cornicopea
of variant designs all able to be built (or rebuilt) from the same base
chassis. A side bonus of all this extra room is superior heat dissipation,
ease-of-maintenance, and a marked increase in environmental resistance (no
vehicle has ever been recorded as being disabled due to sand in the inner
workings).
==Variants:==
Known "official" variants include missile tracks for long-range bombardment,
barrage vehicles for suppression of enemy defenses, and heavy-weapon vehicles
for close quarters fighting.

I like it! It a decent 65 tonner and is fairly well rounded against it's canon counterparts.

Which is something that FASA and FP missed...you don't need tons of new vehicles when you can make tons of variants tell you run out of possibilites for a single chassis type...

Well, tons of variants don't need tons of pages in TRO and tons of minis... |
No they don't need tons of pages. BUT they could have put out packs of different turrets or extra guns to allow the variants to be made...and then when the RS books were made they could have added in all possible variants or something like that.

Turret probably costs less than whole mini and by making variants with different capabilities they would lose the potentially different designs, which would be useable as TRO stuff (and lose money). It's still a money source, using variants like you suggest (and as it makes sense) would lower their income IMO...

Like its' parent design, the Char C carries substantial all-range firepower in
a mobile and well-armored package.
However, unlike the Inner Sphere version the Char B, the Char C is not easily
modified due to the Clan efforts to slim it down, substantially hampering one
of the basic design's great strengths.
==Deployment==
The greatest concentration of Char C vehicles is, naturally, with Clan Hell's
Horses, who use them to great effect. All of the other clans possess Char Cs,
but they are relatively rare.
