Hi everyone...hopefully some of you megamek addicts can help me with this...when I restart a saved game I was playing against a bot, the bot doesn't come back. In the first session, the bot wasn't running in a second console...it was just running in the same console I was. How do I get to bot back to play against?
Thanks

its not a bug. its a limit in the design.
Bots can be added via 1 client for Campaigns and such.
However, saved games do not include the needed info that a user was a bot and so you need to start a second client and join as bot with the exact name as the old bot.
Pain in the butt but not a bug.

yeah, the thing I don't like about running the bot in a second window is that it slows things down considerably. In the same window, the bot moves in a couple of seconds, even in a pretty big game, but in different windows, it takes forever. And of course, big games are the ones that you're most likely to want to save...

I have noticed that if I run them in the same window they tend to crash more often, and that is at 2v2 and above. But if I run them as seperate clients they are much more stable, but a little slower.

I think I'm going to have to increase the amount of memory I'm providing my JVM with the bots...when I run it in a separate client, it takes the bot forever to move...maybe 10-20 minutes to move one 'mech.
I read somewhere else that you should have the bot host, and connect to the bot. Any thoughts?

First Thanks for that question Mud. I was having the same issue and getting a little peeved.
Now for the technical issue? Seperate clients, same window? Huh?
Mud so what if you have a laptop and desktop. One hosts the other dials in as hte bot? Is that kind of what you are talking about?
