The field rations used by the US military have a wide variety of menus to them. As a result of this, some rations have become favorites while others have garnered a negative reputation.
I got to wondering what would happen if a military in BTech did something similar with their rations. Would the players be able to barter with other soldiers for better menus? Would some menus be so vile that it takes a constitution check just to keep them down?
What does everyone else think?

No, that is not possible. Noonee would buy Kuritan food so the Combine warriors would have to trade with something else (spare parts, ...). The Coordinator would not allow that (for more detail see the sourcebook for house Kurita (free download on CBT site)).

There was an example of this in one of the Blood of Kerensky novels, the second one I believe. There was a comment about the rations being left over from the 4th succession war, and everyone was trying to barter them away.
It was also warned to not heat them, as the layer of grease could be skimmed off when the packs were cold...

Hear hear, i am a soldier now and there are times that the rations that is absolutely horrible. I always tried to exchange them off to the less knowledgable.
