I'm sitting here nursing my Rum and Coke (Got one of those honking 44oz cups that gluttons get at the gas station and have been working on it for the better part of the evening) and listening to GnR and you know I think Axl Rose is a freakin' genius.

I hope you are joking. Ozzy Ozborne....singer/bass player for Black Sabbath, then went on and became one of the biggest names in hard rock in the 80s. he is now considered to be one of the most influential rock artists ever.

Don't forget that historians give Sabbath and two other groups (Blue Cheer, Deep Purple) all the credit for inventing heavy metal.

I REALLY doubt that Zepplin is creditied with it. They blended Rock and Blues...their sound made more of the hair metal of the 80s with power ballads and the melodies/ harmonies and the modern alternative...while Sabbath formed the backbone of Heavy Metal like Metallica, Megadeath, White Zombie, and newer bands like Tool.

If you look at many of the other music sites you'll see that it's Led Zeppelin that ws very prominant in the foundation Heavy Metal.
