Groaning into his untouched glass, Syllyrya strains his facial features away from a grimace and keys back into his headphone com..."I really don't care if there is a discrepancy in the ratio of the internal structure pressure resistance readings. Have I ever lead you to believe that I have even the slightest inclination in the construction of mecha? My specialty is taking them out and destroying them so that I can continue to pay you to FIX them, not bore me to death with specs and details."
He closes his eyes as some incoherent reply muffles into his earpiece.
"If you have such a problem with structural integrity I suggest you take it up with either the designers or with your dog. If you wish to take it up with me, be glad that the only 'click' that you hear is me hanging up on you."
In one swift motion Syllyrya pulls the headpiece of, thumbs the off switch and stows the com gear into a beltpouch. After taking a deep and centering breath the untouched drink looses it's untouched status and the weight of the world slowly falls drunkenly off of the pilot's forhead.

Heh, it seems that someone is not sure what to do with your mech. I wouldn't let anyone touch my Dragon without MY supervision.

Well, welcome to the B&G. It's nice to see new people comming...
OOC: ...especially when they want to write in the way you showed in your post.

Welcome to the Bar and Grill.
The techs say my mech is a nightmare to work on, so, I have to do the work by myself.
So, what brings you here?

You guys whine like mules. Not only am I a mech warrior, but a Master Tech as well. You should take pride in your mechs and your techs. They make it so you can do what you do best. Have a little respect...

When my tech says something on my Nightstar needs replaced, we replace it. Unless we're unable to get the proper supplied. In that case, I just say patch it the best he can, and I'll deal with it. I've gone into battle with half my weapons malfunctioning, no MagRes, and a hole the size of Lurch's fist in my viewscreen... when its life or death you ride whatever ya got.

Syllyrya takes another long swig, places his cup down on the bar and sighs heavily.
"Don't get me wrong. My tech has proven himself time and time again. Hell, he's made an LRM launcher from bailing wire and spit. I just don't have the mindset to understand all the techno-babble he keeps spitting at me. It's just not interesting. I know that he finds the resistance values of internal structure is inconsistent between varient mech types and that while an Atlas has a ratio of 14 point 9 while a Locust has a value of 16 even in terms of resistance per ton, but I've found that that kind of small talk won't get you a phone number. I'm good at feeling a mech out and using it in whatever way calls to me, but it's the 'whole' that I'm interested in...ya know, the thing that is greater than the sum of it's parts? Besides, if I give him a hard enough time he works even harder to modify what he's got.
Syllyrya pulls out a cigarette, then with his forefinger he flicks one of the smaller lightbulbs. The bulb shatters with a small jingling exposing the filament wires. He bends down and ignites the cigarette on the red hot wire.

Sometimes a little techwork can't harm you. When I was assigned to militia, I had to take care for a half of our mechs, because there were only two other skilled techs and one of them had to deal with tanks. With my transfer I don't expect that it would be any better.
*SD piles the remains of the broken light bulb with shoes and continues*
And don't do that here too often, or you may be forced to clean whole bar and pay for the broken light bulb of course.
*hushed voice*
You see that big guy at the door? That's Lurch, he doesn't like the sound of broken glass, unless he's braking it against your head.

SD, you might as well get him the broom. You know what's going to happen when Alexis sees the glass on the floor....

*Para points to a no smoking sign above the bar.*
"I can't even get the techs to help me work on my mech."

Why should I bring him a broom. This would require me to overcome my inborn laziness just to help another person. Am I an altruist or what?

my tech just says to me "it's off, but I'll fix it in whatever hours"...he knows I don't need the details...
ooc....looks like my rank and avatar needs a tweakin....

*snuffing out the cigarrette*
"This seems like a nice place, so I'll follow the rules for now."
*He bends his knees and reaches down to scoop up the broken shards of the bulb with his bare hands.*
"Just seems like everything has got a rule against it somewhere. Don't like something, just hop on a dropship and go somewhere where there is a law against it. Problem with that is, mor'n likely there'll be a law prohibiting someone like you from being there in the first place."
*stands back up*
"So, who's to say why there are laws? The people who don't spend their time greasing gyros or pulling triggers? I think it's getting pretty out of hand and if enough mercs get to gether and decide to become 'political' that there could be a very large mess to be dealt with."
*sips his drink and looks around at the expressions on the faces of those listening in*

*Again SD seems to be slightly amused, without any obvious reason*
There are only a few written laws here, but there is a law of the big guy over there and Alexis.
*Points toward the table with local waitress sitting nearby*
The only woman able to demolish your smile and car with a single kick.
*Orders himself a tea (man, I think that it can be called addiction)*
Oh, I almost forgot about the other staff of this establishment. Like the bartender, or big boss over there.
*Points toward Mordel's office door that slowly start to gather spider-webs*
He is closed there for a quite a few days. If the food wasn't disappearing from the plates that Alexis brings there than I would think that he's dead. He must be up to something...
