OK, so we have the Crockett mech. It needs a wingman and I'm putting out the request for the Tubbs mech. (Crockett and Tubbs...get it?)
SO come up with something that will compliment the Crockett nicely and I'll give you a cookie or something.

==Overview:==
Built around the same time as the CRK 5003-1 Crocket Battlemech, the BNE-5D Boone follows in the same spirit as it's forerunner.
Named after Daniel Boone another Terran woodsman and frontier fighter, the Boone is built to support the Crocket and also as a trainer in the correct use of a medium mech.
The Boone began to see combat use shortly after the Hidden War was at it's peak, the mech was sent out to all units on the Kurtian border and as well as to the Gunslinger program on Terra.
This mech ended up being more then it was built to be, and that made it a prime target in combat.
==Capabilities:==
The Boone was originial intented to be a trainer mech that was setup to teach mech pilots the proper way to use and in engage medium mechs.
It's weapons lay out gives it the ability to hit from afar and up close, thus showing the strenghts and weaknesses of the mech to the pilots in the hope that they can learn how to handle the threats and react to save their lives.
The use of Blankenburg Technologies own in house laser weapons cut the cost down and allowed them to work on things like speed and armor. The use of the Luxor LRM system is showing again that a tried and true item is always prefered and will not fail you when you need it.
The need for this mech to only have to reload one weapon has allowed some commanders to use the Boone as heavy scout and skirmisher as well as a line mech. Many times this has led to the enemy send more out to stop or destory the Boones and thus not having those forces to engage the actually attacks when they come.
This mech is a credit to the engineers at Blankenburg Technologies and it shows in the craftsmanship and praise given to the is mech by the warriors of the SLDF.
==Battle History:==
The Boone saw action all throught the Hidden Wars and through the war against the Usupers. Several dozen left with the SLDF and a handful remain in the ComGuard.
==Variants:==
The only know offical variant was the BNE-7D that removed the BT Large Laser for a BT25 ER Large Laser. But this leds to higher heat problems but not that large of build up to make it uncombat worthy. This is a simple field upgrade and it looked as if there might have been plans to make this the next model, but events of history prevented that and the mech faded from the battlefield.
Another variant the 8D had two Large Lasers, two medium lasers, an LRM10 and TAG. This variant is still undering going trials and testing.

No no no! It isn't the Boone. I wanted the Tubbs. I want Crockett and Tubbs damn your eyes! I swear I'll have my vengence if it takes me 1000 years and a day!

I thought about a Tubbs mech, but I couldn't really come up with anything that fit the name...nothing meshed with it...I will try again...
He had a shotgun for most of the show...so I think an LB-X would be a good place to start.
