Type: PUG MBT
Technology Base: Inner Sphere Level 2 Main Battle Tank
Movement Type: Track
Tonnage: 75 tons
OVERVIEW
The PUG tank is very much like its name. It will not
quit a battle easily. The tank works best if it is used
in company formations consisting of 8 PUGs and 4 PUG 2s.
The PUG 2 provides long range support as well as
coordinating the fire of the company.
CAPABILITIES
The PUG MBT is one tough tank. With over 12 tons of armor
"she can take a lot of beating". The Gauss Rifle and PPC on the
standard PUG give it a nasty punch at long range. The SRMs are
to dicourage light tanks and hover vehicles from closing, since
they cannot usually mount any more firepower than what the SRMs
provide, anything bigger will be dealt with by the main guns.
The machine guns are for obviously dealing with infantry. When
working as part of a company or lance the TAG comes in handy to
spot for the PUG 2's Arrow IV. Though there is some controversy
over the TAG as some say it detracts from the standard roll of
a main battle tank. The tanks only real weakness on paper is
it's speed. It's designers hope that the extra thick armor and
excelent firepower at all ranges and arcs will make up for this
deficentcy.
The PUG 2's Arrow IV and C3 Master make it the ideal command tank.
It however dropes the SRMs in favor of lasers. The large gives it
a little range while the medium combined with the large cover the
same arc as the SRMs.
Both tanks have CASE, which since they both have ammo, makes repair
after an ammo explosion much easier.
DEPLOYMENT
So far Mercenaries and garrison troops are the main buyers of this
nasty tank. But once it proves itself in battle this fact will more
than likely change. The Assault Adders, a battalion mech sized
mercenary unit, recently purchased a company. The only real note
worthyness of this fact is they were headed for what is now the
liberated Smoke Jaguar Ocupation Zone. How the tanks performed in
Operation Bulldog is data that is currently unavailble.

you might want to switch those SRMs to inferno, but nice otherwise. _________________ I have the right to remain silent. Anything I say will undoubtedly incriminate me.

Ammo loadout can be decided on a mission to mission basis.
Primary mission of the PUG is to kill enemy armor amd 'Mechs. Infantry weapons are a secondary nature to prevent a swarm. The 3rd Reich learned this the hard way back on Terra in what was known as WWII with their Tiger tanks.
