Ya, I would replace the Flamer with a ML myself, but it is their as part of the 'Mechs story. He didn't have a medium laser but did have a flamer so it got put in. Likewise on the LRM placement, it was easier to put into the now spacious arm then to redesign a torso. He just had to make do with what was at hand with the least amount of fiddling. And I really like this 'Mech because of it.

I wouldn't want to hear the comments of technicians who had to lead another reload system through the arm

Good point. Um, i'll just use the excuse that the size reduction on the old AC20 feed to the AC10 feed allowed a quick piggy back of an LRM feed.

Running the feeder through the shoulder may be problematic, just like the control cables on Orion.
